Agreed on all facets. Mayfield will be tough to handle when the starting QB returns. England is a stud. Hoover was quiet but it wasn’t his fault. Murray looks like a real threat in class 3A. Size & speed. #75 for Murray is a good one as well as the QB, #2 & #5 all caught my eye. Coach Cunningham does a good job. I heard at the scrimmage that Hopkinsville was missing 4 starters before the scrimmage & lost 3 more during mayfield scrimmage. Might explain the Murray thrashing some with that many guys out.

Now basketball is traveling during summer to Florida & other states. You can play 120 hoops games in the summer plus AAU but football is way too tough. Baseball middle school now has seasons in the fall & spring. Right now KHSAA couldn’t make it more obvious their feelings towards football.

I also wonder that if KHSAA would allow football activities & 7v7 in June as well as July that kids would get out of travel 7v7 teams & AAU basketball which in turn creates issues imo. Still seemed kind of weird on the email. Basketball has had numerous issues as well the last few years but it always seems football is under attack in the state. Weird honestly.

Paducah had a 3-way scrimmage at Hopkinsville last night. They were dominant but not at the same level as they were last year. Still a darn good team who has a legit chance at going back to Lexington. They beat Hopkinsville 21-0 in two quarters & Clarksville Northeast 35-0 in two quarters.

Wagner at McLean? Correct me if I'm wrong but hadn’t CH been traditionally a wing-t team? With what Wagner has done at McLean he would be a big time hire this late in the game. Maybe Grayson County HC? He has been really good at Grayson during his tenure there too.

Which does make sense but it would seem to have made more sense to leave Christian County in 6A District 1 with Daviess/Henderson/McCracken & leave Hoptown in the 6 team Class 4A district 1. Its a tough situation regardless leaving in the middle of a scheduling cycle so there wasn’t a “right” answer.

That’s the million dollar question that no one knows the answer to. Apparently HHS appealed the decision when classes were released and KHSAA denied their motion to stay in Class 4A.

I think it just depends. Is the kid an athlete playing QB or is he a true “QB”? There is a difference between the two. QB/DB I think is fine. QB/LB is something a little different imo.

Franklin County isn’t holding PT to 7 points.

PT has been good for the last few years. Getting those Chattanooga transfers and smartly taking advantage of the extra Covid year helped pushed them over the top. They are extremely talented & Coach Thompson & his staff have done a great job. They are a well oiled machine now.

Got to diversify the staff more I believe. May need to go with a couple more veteran guys mixed in with the young blood.
