Was a poorly officiated game. We had our first td called back on an inadvertent whistle and ended up not scoring. A lot of laundry on the field all night as well. Our boys played second half without our starting qb. Backup qb and freshman Raygon Mathis came in the second half. Prayers for Gregory he did not look good from where I was sitting, heard he was concussed. Gutsy win by our eagles but felt like we could have won by 28 or more, but was just a strange night from the officials to injuries. Hopefully we get well before next week.

I think you mean Jacob Sutton but aside from that great write up. Appreciate the Acree mention. I feel he’s one of the more underrated receivers in West Kentucky. Not much size to him and not overly fast, but runs such crisp clean routes to get open. Our boys are on a 5 game winning streak, but opponents got quite a bit easier second half of the season. Mainly due to district opponents being easier. Turnovers. We cannot turn the ball over. When you go back to the earlier games this season, we turned it over 3 times in a half against Mayfield and while we hung with Owensboro, turnovers cost us. I don’t think we beat Mayfield on most nights but we didn’t give ourselves a chance. Owensboro we got too far behind and couldn’t catch up. Protect the ball and we can win this game and hopefully pull off a surprise or two this year in the playoffs. Not saying it’s likely, but it wasn’t likely 9 years ago either.

I’m in agreement with most of the scores posted. We need this game for RPI reasons. I don’t know if madisonville can catch us. I’ve heard there is zero chance and then I’ve heard they actually will pass us despite playing Murray. I have no clue what to believe. Hoping we win this one and pulling for Henderson and Murray as well!

Graves game was equally terrible. First 7/8 plays of ours any big play was called back. Our guys don’t get penalized very much. Then the clock guy did everything he can to buy Madisonville more time at the end. It’s a very tough place to play and get a win. Reminds me of another place here in West Ky with the phantom flags.

Why do you think this is the case? Mayfields offense has been the same for the last decade. Going to spread you out, throw it around to athletes, and have a single back in the backfield. Everyone knows what they’re going to do and it’s not complicated at all, but good luck stopping it. With this offense though, I could see it limit certain playmakers getting touches. Just a thought.

Talked to a player this morning. Said the team might’ve gotten food poisoning. About 8 players and a coach were throwing up at halftime.

Sorry guys, I was driving, wife just took over. It was a wild game. Graves first 4, maybe 5, plays were big gains and called back, including an 80 yard td pass. After that the refs settled in and did a great job. The clock operator was terrible. He refused to start the clock trying to get Madisonville more time. Graves jump out in front and had a comfortable 20-7 lead. Madisonville scored in the very last play to cut it to 20-14.

Eagles showed what they are capable of last week against Owensboro. Eagles win 35-14.

I got a totally different story. I would concede that you probably know more about it than I do. However, I disagree that it’s an understandable reaction due to who it was if my information is accurate.

Priorities smh He’s a minor, barely, so I will not say a word about this, besides this, I hope priorities are not just set on football. An entire school system (younger kids included) are watching where priorities are at.

Doesn’t matter where the ball is, matters where that last part of his body is. The back foot. This angle it is impossible to tell. Don’t forget, we were hurt last night too. Marrs appears to be still very limited. We would both have to get past District 2 for it to happen. Assuming we both beat a good madisonville team. I’m not sleeping on them. I have seen a theme with you guys and refs after every game on here.

I have never gone into a game as clueless about the outcome as I do for this one. I’d like to think we win this one. 28-21

Verizon doesn’t have 5G capabilities either, while T-mobile and AT&T do. My guess is still that the tower was way too congested so they throttled speeds.

The Mustangs run into a disappointed Cardinal team looking to take their frustrations out… mayfield bounces back and clocks Mustangs in the 3rd.

Too many people all on the same tower. I know most people around our area use Verizon and At&t. Fewer people use T-Mobile and they offer 5G coverage, unlike Verizon. If you knew someone who had T-Mobile use their phone or pay for them to have a wireless stream kit that offers wifi for your phone. (The first option would be better) I cannot guarantee this would work, but it’s worth a shot. (Use to work for a major cell phone company)

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned. Paducah didn’t have many guys going both ways. Mayfield does. This could be huge in the second half.

I agree Cartwright is better. Kid went from struggling quite a bit when he was young to one of the best qbs Mayfield has had in awhile. And yes before I get slammed about previous qbs, I know who all has played qb at Mayfield the last few years. He doesn’t make many mistakes and distributes the ball better than any of them. Doesn’t have the arm to go vertical but man he gets it done underneath. Mayfield has one weak link in their defense. I’m not going to throw a 16/17 year old under the bus, but it was obvious in the Graves game. Paducah is obviously more athletic than us. If they find it…

Hard to believe, but some teams in the Jackson Purchase won’t even schedule us anymore. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and travel to dang near Louisville to play Bullit East. Scheduling I’m sure is hard on coaches but I’d like to see Mayfield play some of the teams in the bigger classes out of curiosity.

I think the posts above show how important this game is for both fan bases.

On one side I see this on the other side TPride makes a good point. Graves was called for 12 men on the field last night on a 4th and 1 they converted. I was assured by an assistant that the film told a different story and that there was only 11. Did this call cost the Eagles the game? Probably not. But it it was a huge call at the time. Some calls are just bad, but refs are human and sometimes just screw up. I’m not sure the correct response to these type of situations. This situation seems fitting, but definitely opening pandoras box.

Paducah is more talented. Mayfield is more disciplined. I’m debating on coming to this one to see it. Mayfield I think just uses what they have better and typically make fewer mistakes. I’m going 35-28 Mayfield.
