He also said all three fields (softball, baseball and football) are getting brand new press boxes, including new bleachers for softball and baseball, as well as many other outdoor improvements on campus. The athletic complexes are going to look like a college campus when it’s done! Can’t wait.

Beechwood has the 3rd most championships in state history ... no way they are anything other than a blue blood.

The fact it was 18-17 when they got hurt, tells me enough about them being overrated. Also, why onside kick when you are up 18-17? I’m sure Holy Cross is better than last year, but unless they are leaps and bounds better than last year, should a top 10 team in 2A, have even been in a dogfight with them? Hopefully Tarter and Benedict aren’t hurt too badly, and they both get back sooner than later.

Missed a couple TD passes early in the game, fumbled on a QB sneak on the 1 yard line, and NCC ran a kickoff back, definitely a sloppy game for the Tigers.

Beechwood played NCC in 2022, Beechwood won 26-9 at Cov Cath.

Beechwood hasn’t scrimmaged Cooper for the last 2 years. Purcell Marian was the other scrimmage last year, and yes, Beechwood has a hard time finding scrimmage partners. I can promise you, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd options were not to load up the Cheese Wagons and drive 2+ hours in 90+ degree heat to find a willing scrimmage partner, but beggars can’t be choosers, it was at least a half of football against someone wearing different uniforms. Young guys that are now starting, got good live reps.

Varsity played the 1st half. Beechwood was up 42-0 at half time. Queen was 15-17 for 284 Yards and 3 TDs Fryman 6 catches for 169 and 2 TDs Pabst 5 catches for 52 Aylor 3 catches for 52 and a TD Pabst 3 TDs rushing

Beechwood controlled the freshman scrimmage, 14-0. The 8th grade QB (Ben Jackson) did very well.

Beechwood lost James Cusick who is now at the Naval Academy prep school and was the leading receiver and do everything man for Beechwood, as well as Luke Erdman and 4 of the 5 starting lineman last year, it wasn’t just a couple of star players that they graduated. Beechwood is breaking in 4 new lineman and a new QB, so the advantage will sit with Ryle in this one, but it’s a scrimmage and a great opportunity to get better. Thank God it’s football season!

Not sure I agree, but stranger things have happened. The non district schedule isn't overly challenging. I would expect 5-5, 6-4, 7-3? Then maybe a playoff upset or two. It also depends on whether Coach Rash installs his defense (which will be a major adjustment for the players and even more so for the coaches -- this is where not having a few Rash assistants will make things more interesting). If they stick to what they ran last year it will depend on personnel matching the scheme. Last years scheme looks and feels a lot different than Rash's scheme to me, but that doesn't mean I am right. I think that the head coach will push the theory he has lived by his entire coaching career which is: If you want to win big games in November, you must be able to run the football AND stop the run. A lot will depend on the big picture. If this is a short term gig, I can't see a major install or changes taking place. More of an overseer role ensuring the kids have a good experience after the tragedy of losing their coach. I will say this to the Conner people (and I tried to get this across in the other thread), Conner will be focusing on Conner. There is not going to be same type of excuses and focus on matters outside of 3310 Cougar Path Road.

Sorry ... I guess its us tonight. If that top 3 talent is so important ... what about LCA 2020 though 2024? They have had a great deal more talent than every team in 2A and heck probably every other program?

Absolutely, without a doubt ...ridiculous. Conner hasn't had talent? Hmmm Drew Barker ... 5 Star. Cameron Fogle on the same team. The teams during that cycle had more talent than nearly everyone in the state. What didn't those teams do ....play DEFENSE. I don't think a Noel Rash coached team is losing to Franklin County 59 to 62 in 2012. I think Rash and his staff would have had a great chance to win in 2011 and 2012. (That isn't an insult to Coach Trosper either ...he could put up points at a very high level. 90% of the kids are program kids. They do their jobs. They work closer to their potential because that is what is expected in order to play in the program. The culture dictates that you do your job and play as you have been coached. There is great talent there and they do great things. But it is built on kids deciding to not be the one to hurt that culture. I know that it is easy for someone such as yourself to believe the way that you do. Which proves my point even more. Do you think that Beechwood may have had a clue when they hired Bernie Barre, Mike Yeagle, Noel Rash and Jay Volker? Or could you walk in there and win because it is Beechwood? (No is the answer).Nice try on Volker's record ...judge the Talawanda record all you want. ... everywhere else he has coached are powerhouses and his inclusion made those teams better. That proves my point even more. It takes a special skill set to keep a winner ...winning. It takes a special skill set to rebuild. Some can do it all. Volker has followed three legends ... (in your book that should be easy). ..2 of which are mentioned as all time greats. Record: 26-3 Takes pretty special coach/person to do that. And every above average coach isn't doing it. Each of these guys has or had skills that others don't have . All four of them understand Culture. All four understand how to get things done in a very unique community. Its really easy from the outside looking in to pretend like you know. I also understand the point you are trying to make. Its just shallow and superficial ...and wrong. Why hasn't Highlands won multiple champions since Dale left? Heck ..Sphire has won at other places. Why didn't Weinrich win there? Trinity since Beatty? Covington Catholic between Rodenburgh and Eviston? NCC since Schneider and Eviston? There are great coaches at all of those schools. If what you say is true how do you explain these places? Guess what? Proves your theory wrong. Its really easy from outside to guess that any one can win at a great place. Truth be told 99.99% of high school coaches could not hack it or even deal with it for one day. And that is okay. Culture is the key. Culture starts in the hallways at school. Culture is great expectations in all activities. Culture is keeping great assistants. Excuses are not acceptable. Conner has the ability to be all those things. Hopefully the entire community buys in. Sounds like the administration has. Sounds like the kids are. If the excuse brokers do ... lookout ... and giddy up.

I know you are just the messenger here ...think of me as not disputing your point ... but adding another thought. Malachi Corley made it to the league from Campbellsville. I don't know much about the transferring player ... but it isn't impossible for C'ville players to get to the next level.

Yeah, in today’s recruiting world, these schools offer 20+ QBs scholarships. Only 1 or 2 of them are “committable” offers. It’s crazy how much different it is now, from back in the day. Used to be an offer meant a legit scholarship offer, and you had a certain amount of time to accept it or it went to someone else. Now they make multiple offers.

Their QB coach is who recruits NKY. They’ve already offered Queen as a QB.

Pretty sure most coaches play the Booster Club game because they have to. Not because they want to. Kind of surprised that people just don't know that in their minds. Then again there were quite a few people who immediately sided with the malcontent from Cooper. Maybe I am the one who is out there?

Since when do Superintendents hire coaches? Pretty sure principals have ultimate hiring/firing authority in the schools they are responsible for ... at least in Kentucky. If supers are involved in the hiring process of coaches ... something isn't working right. Any principal and/or coach who lives in a world where coaches are hired by super's are probably already looking for new jobs.

Unless Mike Stacy was playing QB for the Tigers this year, I don’t think the Super stepping down is going to impact the 2025 Tigers. I have a feeling the next Super is already in the system and the Tigers will be just fine.

Exactly .. someone gets it (obviously a lot of people do) Coaches accept this stuff when they begin coaching ... they keep their mouths shut when people are spreading lies and intentionally trying to push them out ... purely for the benefit of the players that they are responsible for and for the programs/schools they represent. If they were as bad as these internet tough guys try to portray ...they would fight fire with fire. Instead .. they take it ...while their wives/husbands and families have to sit back and watch selfish, ego-driven maniacs try to destroy people they care about. They do it knowing this. We have to start standing up for the right values again. Portraying ones self as an internet tough guy under the disguise for "fighting for their kids" wreaks of a third string bench warmer holding a grudge from 30 years ago. Great to see people standing up for Sully.

And yet you have heard one side of the story from a parent who has a singular focus and goal ..his daughter. Fine .. I get it. But ... are you 100% sure? (or even 1% sure) How you read that and automatically believed the parent ..(who just like another parent there) I will never know ..especially when the coach is pretty well respected. And let me say this ... you have one person who makes a bunch of videos ...where this person was all about blowing the lid off things ...similar to what this parent did ... and you don't even say "I wonder what the coaches side is?" I find it pretty doggone interesting that patents feel the need to run to the internet and get their side of the story out there .. you know ... to "support their kids".... when the reality is the kids are handling the situation significantly better than their parents .. makes me wonder why the parent doesn't say "I am proud of you for working through a tough time ...this is real life and as you get older this is going to happen A LOT ... and there will be nothing I can do in those situations" Know why it doesn't happen like that? Because 99 times out of a 100 .. its Mommy and Daddy's ego that is hurt ...not so much the kid. Mr. Bigshot moneybags from a month or so literally talked about himself for 21 out of 27 minutes ...yet there were a ton of people right there encouraging that trainwreck. It wasn't about the kid (who to this day I have not heard one cross thing about him ...Moneybags...ha ha yeah ...yeah different story) Anybody actually think that those people are doing the right thing for their kids by making it about themself? Funny how every coach mentioned has been extremely successful there ...yet some how a few people air their dirty laundry in public without hearing both sides ... and we automatically believe the adult with their feelings hurt. If they were truly concerned about their kids instead of their self they would make it a teaching moment and not make it worse by making a spectacle of their self in public (because that is what it really is)

I see some of these lower level Pee-Wee teams, talking like 3-4 graders, with coaches that have play sheets that look like a Waffle House menu, and they are in shotgun every play, and just about every snap is on the ground or over the QBs head. What happened to teaching basics, and running dive, trap, iso, slam, sweep, and maybe a couple passes in the play book. Teach them the fundamentals of football, and quit trying to emulate big time NCAA and NFL football, and start with building the foundation of football.
