No. Lance resigned after the 2018 season. His son was coming up (who just finished his senior season this year) in middle school at the time. Coached them + the need to want to get into administration. He stepped in over the summer of ‘23 when Graves on an interim basis when then coach resigned late. Some will wonder I’m sure why the interest in a potential move, especially being at Graves since leaving John Hardin in ‘09 for the GCHS job, moving into an admin role (pay in particular), but: 1- He’s originally from Russellville, played at Logan County. 2- His wife and her folks are from Frankfort. 3- I don’t know this for certainty off hand, but I’m confident in saying that the Hardin County teaching base pay + HFC stipend is equal to or greater than what he makes as an AP in Graves County. Would be an absolute homerun hire in so many ways in general, but especially considering the “debacle” that this whole CH thing has appeared on the surface. A- He’s a proven winner at school/program almost identical to Central Hardin in Graves County, in two different stints at that. From the “outskirts” of the main town (E-town/Mayfield), to the smaller communities they both 100% draw from. B- He’s just a genuinely good dude (by NO means insinuating this also isn’t true for Stockdale, because from my own experiences, I can 100% say the same for him).

No doubt you want competition, however, the Boyle/Highlands days, I don’t think both were staring at them right out the gates within the first two rounds were they? (Honest question there) LexCath/Boyle was the region title to set up a match up with Highlands. And I should have explained a little more on the 4th- the competition right out the gates (that they haven’t faired remotely well against in match ups dating back the last 9-10 years) + the fact that they’ve already had a lot of unexpected turnover.

I’ve wondered the same thing. Possibly Nigel Smith taking it back? I know he remained on staff at least one, if not both of the years that Nick was there. This is obviously still a good job. If you had everybody on this site make their list of Top 25 jobs? LexCath would be on every single one of them. HOWEVER, there are some ‘on the surface’ strikes for luring the type of coach that I’m sure is expected to be hired from the Clays Mill Road faithful. 1- We all know that leaving the public sector for the private, in this state? HUGE obstacle for those still in KTRS & deep into it at that? To give up. The flip side of that? If I’m already retired then I have the chance to swim in more cash coming in than ever in my life. 2-The pay as it relates to the above. I could be grossly underestimating that, though. (On LexCath’s end) 3- About to be 4th coach in 7 years? Again, on the surface? Screams “tread lightly”. 4- …and, this might be the biggest one that nobody is talking about, and while it’s - right now - just for the next two years? The realignment did them zero favors. Instead of waiting to see CAL or Lou Central in the semis? They are now going to see them in the 2nd round at the very latest. I’ll even throw DeSales into that equation & Bardstown being in their district is far from a pushover (goes without saying). If I’m a LexCath fan? Don’t think for one minute that some likes of the names you hope go after this aren’t thinking: ”You’re about to hire your 4th coach in 7 years. These next two years you’re about to be paired up right out of the gates with two teams that have dog walked you the last three meetings with them (CAL x 2, Central x 1) + another you’re also O’fer against the last two times you’ve played them (DeSales)…and, I haven’t even mentioned Bardstown.”

Both would be very good. But, Zach is also an assistant principal at McLean as well. Hardin County doesn't allow admin to be coaches. It's neither of those, though.

1- Incorrect. Chad has not applied for Central Hardin. However, with having played there, coached there, then having the success Hart County has had just down the road, it's natural that his name would be brought up on the rumor mill. 2- Central Hardin will likely name their HC next week & let's just say, instead of down I65, they are down the WKY parkway. 3- If "Most Open Jobs this season" mean: LaRue- Who called him Glasgow- Absolutely looked into it and rightfully so, mutual interest. Meade County- See Glasgow. 4- Before anybody brings up Marshall County from last year, they (some admin) were the ones that came up to Hart County during their 2023 playoff run to watch 2nd, 3rd & 4th round games. 5- Barren County in 2023? See LaRue. See Marshall However, if 5 jobs of the 90 or so the last two years is "most open jobs", then yes.

Correct. To retire from teaching & draw full benefits, yet while returning to just coach (and, still get paid for that). There is a 90 day required window per the KTRS where you can’t be employed/paid (and, maybe even be on the grounds of school in an active, all things “educational role”).

Some of these should be fun- can't wait to hear all the status quo "anti Wing T", which are truly unknowingly self admittance "don't know what they don't know" comments, but I'm holding out hope.

Not a fan. The “County” thing is played out. Originally, it was Christian County that made it popular, sharing their homestead with Hopkinsville. Then others joined in.

While basic, this has been the look in Brownsville for many years- dating all the way back to when Rick Wood was there & their ‘96 semifinal team that got beat by Derek Homer’s Fort Knox Eagles. I love this look from Edmonson County.

I'm all for the super region...needs to happen across the state. IMO, it just makes too much sense. So many region tournaments you have 3 teams in a single district, that could win the whole thing (their region), only for one to not even make it. Conversely? You'll have teams make that same region tourney that don't have a snowballs chance in winning it due to coming out of some rag tag district, essentially "stealing" a spot based off nothing more than their district sucks worse than another one(s) in the region. I love everything about the 15th and this super region.

If he’s got enough years in the TTRS, and I have no reason to believe he doesn’t even with the short stint in GA + KnoxCath? Then I’d say coming to MadSouth & the ability truly double dip? I’d say to at least see one full class go through from Fr-Sr? Which, doesn’t sound like a lot, but the fact of the matter is, most of these jobs are coming open every 4-5 years on average as is (often times less) when you look at individual programs for the vast majority of them across the state

HOF coach from the Vol State. He won, I believe, Knoxville Catholic’s 1st state title. He’s coached 40 years, most of that being in Tennessee, but a couple years in either GA or AL. Have to think that he has enough years in Tennessee Public Schools to draw full retirement (Knox Catholic not counting). He was just the HC at Campbell County for the ‘24 season. I think Madison Southern will make either his 9th or 10th stop as a HC- proven track record and then some.

Define "its potential". Honest curiosity/question? Since '98, in 27 years, they've won 3 region titles, an it's maybe been longer. Duffy took over in '94. He didn't win a region title there until year 9 ('02) & that came after a period where they had 2/3 years go a combined 1-19. In that same amount of time both at Danville and Highlands (give or take), he'd already won multiple state titles at both spots. Duffer then took over and won two more region titles, in '04 & '06. Since then? They've not won one. However, coaches they've had since Duffer? Clay Clevenger took them to a region title, wasn't able to win one, but he was able to win a state title at Danville & has gone back to back Region Titles out of the gates at Somerset these past two years. Tony Lewis who came from Evansville Reitz where I'm about positive he won a state title there in 09, to go along with two other region titles and another region final appearance. All in all? At least four region title appearances and/or beyond while across the rive. At Henderson? He went 9-3, followed up by two losing seasons ('14 & '15). Josh had 5 seasons of 7+ wins, one being a 10 win/Region Final appearance in 2022. So, what gives? Especially given the success of the names above before/after being at Henderson.
