Strange times in PRP. So in November 2023 AD Nick Waddell fired head coach Tommy Williams after 7 years as head football coach, citing an interest to "focus on new leadership for the PRP Football Program," and also stating that, "We strive to be the best everyday, as well as being competitive with the top teams in the State." One month later they announced that they had hired 2010 PRP grad Brandon Dunn, who had played college football at UofL and then played 7 years in the NFL with the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans.

This timing seems strange to me. PRP is lining up what appears to be a hell of a tough schedule for 2025. They still have to work out the date for their game against North Hardin, but their non-district schedule includes Trinity, Franklin County, Male and Lexington Christian.

So first, why wait until spring practice time to non-renew your football coach? And second, why as an Athletic Director are you signing contracts to put together a meat-grinder of a non-district schedule for a team that only went 2-9 the year before when you're planning on canning your coach?

Aug 29 vs. Raceland
Sep 5 vs. Franklin County

Oct 3 vs. Manual (District)

Oct 24 vs. St. Xavier (District)
Oct 31 at Lexington Christian Academy

WOW!  If you don't have the right people at the top, who have experience working with or managing programs like a 6A football program, you set yourself up for a poor foundation for any new coach being thrown into this mess.  The AD is not impressive in the scenario outlaid above and his kids and the program at large will continue to suffer for it.

Have heard that JCPS athletic directors will fire a coach for looking at other jobs (assistant coach, college, head coach etc...) ..... could this be the case now?

It is very difficult to turn around a losing program in just one season. Make zero sense to let a coach go after one season unless something happened within the program that is not being leaked.

There are more significant behind the scenes to just letting a coach go after one season!!

Would almost have to be.  If not, why wait until March.  If it's just wins and losses from the season being judged, I believe he'd have been let go in December or January.  Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

More to this than just losing games in this case. New Principal wants a culture change. School is going through some things, they will be ok eventually. Kenny Walker will be interim until they find a new leader.
