It's never a bad idea if you have a play that you really feel will work and have worked on it in practice. If you are decisive and get the play in quickly the kids will feel better about running it and their ability to execute it.

Dixie continues to struggle scoring goals losing 3-1 to the Conner lady cougars. Their only goal tonight was on a corner kick. This was a big win for Conner who improved to 6-2-1, their 1st win versus a good team.

Just what this country needs, less sports to keep kids in shape. Let them all just go to class, get on the computer and get fat!

Anyone know if he plans to coach long enough to surpass Bill Miller with 1132 wins? I am assuming Miller retired from PRP after the 2017 season. Then of course you have Mac Whitaker who is 2nd and still coaching Harrison Co with 1102 wins through this season and probably needs 2 seasons to pass Miller. So I guess he would be chasing Whitaker as long as they both continue coaching.

games at Florence?

It's all about pitching in the first round and who's fresh. In a close game I'll go with the Colonels and their ability to manufacture runs under Krumplebeck.

Looks like a cakewalk to the finals for CCH, much tougher road for Highlands but looks like a CCH/Highlands championship game.

Why so defensive? If you're going to make a comment on here it's nice to back it up with information to support your feelings. Everyone is not privy to what goes on deep down in programs and likes to hear what people who are supposedly in the know have to save. That said thanks for the insight.

That's a pretty strong statement. There have been quite a few very good teams not win the state and not the first to not even get there.

Congratulations to the lady cougars on a 23 win season against a much improved schedule. With graduating only 1 senior starter the 3 seniors to be who have started since freshmen should be poised to make a run again next year. They should be able to replace senior starter McLemore with Strange and I'm sure they have some young talent in the pipeline to help the bench next year. Their biggest obstacle will once again be Ryle in their own district who also returns almost everyone. The 9th should be a good region again with a good returning group at Dixie and Highlands as well as others I'm sure.

It's always easier coaching from the stands.

I don't think anyone is really judging their program just stating facts. They have had a solid program since Jaime took over around 2000 I think. Can't say what the program was like prior to that.

In 2014/15 they went 30-4 and lost to HCross in semis of 9th regional. Holy Cross then beat Holmes who went 30-3 and Holy Cross eventually won state to finish 33-3. Can't ever remember 3 teams in NoKy, boys or girls, winning 30 games in the same season. In 2015/16 Highlands went 22-11 and lost to Ryle in the 2nd round of the 9th regional. Ryle was 24-7 and lost to Holmes in the 9th regional championship. Holmes lost in quarters of the state to Mercer Co. who was 31-6 and lost in the semis to Franklin Co. who was 30-5 and lost to eventual state champ Butler. In 2016/17 Highlands lost to Cooper in the 1st round. Cooper went into the regional as a district runnerup to Conner. Cooper ended up losing the regional championship to Holmes who eventaully lost to Franklin Co. in the state semis. Mercer Co. then beat Franklin Co in the state championship. So to your point I guess that they probably were not the favorites in any of those years. They lost in the regular season 2014/15 to Holy Cross, 2015/16 they lost in the regular season to Holmes and in 2016/17 they did beat Holmes during the season but then lost to Cooper in the regional.
