Why do Lloyd and Ludlow not compete in the All -A?

Where is CovCath in this mix? I think they would be in the smallest 131 schools in the state based on enrollment or do they treat all boys schools differently. Lloyd I think is the only other school outside the smallest 131 and under 1000 enrollment.

Nice comeback, how were they at the foul line? Were they able to get there much? Seems like foul shooting has been a problem for some of the girls and in a comeback you have to make free shots with the clock stopped.

The girls is always first now and has been since 2006/2007. They stopped alternating them in 2005/2006.

Sorry as much as I would like to see the game I will be NO where near the Ryle gymnasium tomorrow night just as I was NO where near the Conner gym last night.

That's funny I wasn't going to bite until you called me out. I was NO where near Conner high school last night, thank you very much. Sounds like a good win, adjustment or not. Congrats to the Conner lady cougars but they have a real test tomorrow with their nemesis Ryle.

You have to get to the regional first and I think the matchups favor Ryle in the 33rd district. They will get the # 1 seed and Boone C. the # 4 seed leaving Cooper and Conner to battle it out for the spot opposite Ryle in the regional. This means that one of those two teams will not even make the regional. They have split home and away and this year the district is at Ryle so their matchup will be on a neutral court. I know that home court is not as important for the girls as crowds are not usually that big of a home court factor but the court familiarity can be a factor. Conner has played the tougher schedule but the last 2 weeks they have lost 4 of 6 games against tough opponents with the exception of Notre Dame. They need to right the ship with tough games against Dixie tonight, Ryle on Wednesday, Highlands on Feb. 9th and Holy Cross on Feb. 13th. Wins in 3 of those 4 would go a long way in getting them ready for that crucial matchup with Lexi Held and company in the first round of the districts. Conner is clearly the better all around team but they need to step it up down the stretch to be ready for tournament time. Highlands is coming on strong winning 7 of their last 8 and Jamie Richey will have her girls ready for the 35th districts and you have to think they should have no problem getting to the regional this year with the # 1 seed in that district. NCC is the clear favorite for the other spot from that district. Dixie should be the favorite in the 33rd with a 3-0 district record and they should make the regional with St. Henry the other likely participant. That leaves the other spots for Holmes and Holy Cross from the 34th district. All in all it should make for an interesting 9th regional tournament with a chance for any of these teams to get hot and represent at BB&T in March.

Smells like a little bit of home cooking imo but I don't know the history of the pairings in this tournament. The old state tournament format can be brutal on some teams.

KHSAA scoreboard has the score 59-55 not that it makes a lot of difference. Anyone know if Jordan played as she suffered a mild concussion against Cooper last week?

The Highlands staff is as well prepared for an opponent as any you'll see in northern Ky. They always give their girls a chance to win the game even when they are down talent wise.

I'm sure both teams will look a lot different come March.

How about the family that can afford to go to one tournament out of town but not a second one. I'm betting it has a direct correlation on attendance drop at the Sweet 16.

It has nothing to do with catching someone off guard. It's being able to prepare for a particular style within a short turnaround window. Boy you and BigZig, maybe one and the same, sure get touchy when a comment is made about coach Stamm.

The next 2 weeks will tell the tale for Conner. They play @ Cooper and Simon Kenton and then home with Holmes, Dixie and Ryle. Let's see how prepared Stamm has them for these different styles of teams.
