  1. Schools are sleeping on this kid. I could see schools like Vandy, UT, Butler getting involved over the next yr. I could also see him walking on to UK, like Sharpe from BE did this yr @ Louisville. If UK happens to offer he'll more than likely sign immediately
  2. I looked it up and u are correct. Sounds like he had a good yr. Thought Tyler might have teamed up with Weyer @ Bellarmine. That would be a sick combo for them. But cant fault a kid for chasing his dream. Better to try it now. Hope he gets to be the next bj flynn @ UL
  3. I really liked Tyler's game too and hope he does good things @ UL. Quick question, what ever happened to the Gilbert kid from Scott County that walked on @ UL? I thought he was an excellent shooter and hard worker. Their games are sort of similar. Tyler is a bit quicker and more athletic but hard to find many shooters as good as Gilbert was.
  4. The Mercer-Dunbar game had a nice crowd on wednesday night. Doss making it to the finals didnt do the attendance any favors. I would also like to see a saturday morning session and saturday night champ game. Maybe attendance is down but revenue for the Lex area and hotels are still up bcos some stayed for Sunday.
  5. Indiana's junior class is stacked. 3 kids from the Indy area ranked in the top 35 nationally and another 6"11 wing from the fort wayne area is top 40-50. Programs like IU, Purdue, Mich state, maryland, Kansas, louisville have all offered them. The kentucky junior team should be led by Hollingsworth, CVH, and Sloan but Indiana's class next yr rivals anyone in the country. The kentucky senior class has a chance vs Indiana seniors with Williams, Goodin, Faulkner, ect. It will be tough tho. Indiana's top 5 seniors are probable mr basketball 2G Kyle Guy (Virginia), PG CJ Walker (Florida state), 2G Eron Gordon (considering seton hall, butler, marquette), 6'10 C Joey Brunk (Butler) and F Damien Jefferson (New Mexico). Cant wait to see someone like Carson, who Ive watched all year go up against my Indiana boys. im pylling for him. I hope he gets his and puts on a show
  6. Is the KOb schedule out already? Lots of good players so far, im sure you add Ballard, Trinity, and of course the host Fairdale. On the mr basketball note, what Hollingsworth did @ Rupp this yr and winning a state title wont be forgotten next year. Someone would have to average 35-40 ppg on a highly ranked team to have a shot. Being from Indiana his game reminds me of Jeff Teague when he was in h.s. Less athletic and explosive but still very quick with a better shot (especially that mid range game). Mid-high D1 schools better check this kid out and get on him quick. Hitting 10-12 ft jumper is a lost art.
  7. Got to see Dunbar twice before the state tournament, both losses. One vs Trinity in louisville and once vs New Albany (Ind.) But I could see their talent. Hollingsworth really stepped up his game @ Rupp this week. Huge improvement from what I saw early in the yr. Let the hype for him winning the '17 Mr basketball begin. Interesting side note; Dunbar wins the kentucky state title and New Albany plays for a state title on Saturday. The game in frankfort in early Jan. was possibly a matchup of the two state champions. I doubt that has happened recently (if ever)
  8. And the yr before in '13 Holmes lost in OT to eventually state champ, Madison Central. That was a great game
  9. Everyone was miraculously ok. A few were sent to the hospital. This is a team close to the Gary/ Chicago area probably favored to win their class title. The team will decide if they all want to play the game on Tuesday, which Im sure they will.
  10. Dunbar seems destined to win. They had a close game vs Mercer, down big vs bowling green, beat a really determined NCC team and one of the best players in the state in Weyer. It is kinda crazy that state-wise nobody has really been on Doss or given them alot of attention. Bullitt east seemed to be the popular pick to win the 6th and here is Doss, in the finals. Looks like they've got a good thing going with Coach Williams. 2 yrs coaching, 2 yrs @ rupp
  11. S. Oldham has a nice, deep team. If their 3 pt shots are falling, watch out. They could surprise S. Laurel tom night. Cant wait to watch tomorrow's games. All 4 games could go either way
  12. That might have been the state title game. Although bowling green has a nice team with guards that can handle the ball and Taylor inside. A matchup of possibly the two frontrunners for 2017 mr basketball, Hollingsworth vs Taylor. Quick comment about Mercer senior Malik Dow. I believe he started on a Ballard team with Q. Snyder and K. Martin as a freshman in '13. I was surprised he came off the bench as a senior for Mercer. I know he was the 6th man but seeing him freshman yr thought he would be a certian kentucky all star by this yr. What was his reason for leaving Ballard?
  13. If Carson and Q are 1A then Weyer is 1B. He is just a difference maker. Defensively blocking shots and coming over from the weak side to swat shots out of bounds to offensively shooting 3s and a good post up game. NCC can win bcos u always have a chance with the best player on the floor. Dunbar would present a tough challenge for them, bit then again....ncc wpuld give dunbar problems too slowing the game down and controlling the pace. Bottom line, Weyer is the real deal and will be an all timer for Bellarmine
  14. Haha, yes. A little sarcastic I hope...... Between those 2 (from the games I saw), they picked the right guy (in my opinion). Gotta make sure im all politically correct.
  15. "Pig" Williams @ Arkansas? Is that a joke? Whoa 'pig' sooey!
  16. Congrats! The state of Kentucky gained respect points from me tonight. Instead of giving it to the higher ranked/ bigger school commit Goodin, they made a good decision and took into account these two played each other and Carson came away with the W and better stats. Hard to find a better rep for a school and your state than Carson Williams.
  17. Making the drive south from the sunny side of the river tomorrow morning. Be there every day except Saturday. Thats semi state day over here in Indiana.
  18. I'll proly just drive the hour and 20 min wednesday and Friday (and Sunday depending on who's playing in the final). Gotta feeling this ncaa tourney is gonna be worth watching. Especially the IU/ UK game on Saturday......and yes, im counting on that game
  19. Anyone have any recommendations of which hotels are the best to stay at for this weeks sweet 16 in lexington? The Hyatt and Hilton im sure are great but booked
  20. The new albany vs Dunbar game was an interesting measure of two top teams from different states. Dunbar had more athletes that wanted to run in transition and speed the game up. Idk about most games but they would have won if they would have had any sort of an outside threat. They couldn't throw it in the ocean that day. NA guards had a hard time keeping up with the faster guards from getting in the lane but NA had very good help defense. I believe the game was in the 50s. NA usually speeds up teams and puts up 80+. Maybe the really good teams are just able to adapt and win different types of games. The thing Ive noticed the most following some of the louisville- city teams over the last few yrs is the ability to just run and shoot and play physical. Even the Indy schools dont run and gun as much as most Louisville teams. the players seem to have more freedom in kentucky and as opposed to coaches controlling the game and pace more in Indiana, from my personal experiences
  21. Sounds like the Allen kid is legit. Deff on my must- see list for next yr. (assuming he @ least stays in-state)
  22. They have a point guard who can dribble and drive whenever he feels like it (at least he did @ the region), I believe his last name is Williams. He usually kicks it out to open 3 shooters but all starters can shoot as well as their top 7-8. Causes big time mismatches
  23. How good is this Allen kid from Pendleton? Whats his game like? Is he expected to be back @ PC?
  24. Lots of woulda, shoulda, coulda's goin around this time of year. U dont have be the best team to win in a one and done format, just gotta be better on that particular night. Thats what the postseason is all about and why its the best time of yr. Otherwise it would just be the nba playoffs
