Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe I went to a tournament game @ Bellarmine a few yrs back and Quentin Snider was playing on Fern creek's varsity in 8th grade. I really like Fern Creeks team this yr, they're fun to watch and hope they make a run @ Rupp for the big one

Holmes @ Scott predictions
Indiana Patrick replied to Indiana Patrick's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Scott up 49-26 @ half. Ohmer is the real deal. Idk exact stats but I would say he has @ least 20 so far. I don't even see the potential for Holmes. Hollis about threw a fit on the sidelines after pushing Ohmer down, got T'd up.....all because he can't check Ohmer. Ohmer deserves a look from a school like Bellarmine. That's about his level. If he wants to go somewhere and play right away a school like Mt St Joe's would be ideal. -
Been reading alot about this Ohmer kid and wanted to see for myself. Holmes has alot of talent in the '18 class that I haven't seen either so I'm expecting a good game. Who y'all got?

Wow. Would never have guessed after watching P.C. lose to Beechwood and Collins. -

Thinking about checking this game out tonight. Never been to S.O. Should I expect a good crowd and atmosphere? I have a feeling S.O. will upset Fern Creek and take this one @ home. -

He hit 5 or 6 three's in the 3rd quarter, 4 of which were in the first four minutes of the quarter. That would make him roughly 8/32 outside of that quarter for 25%. To say he had the green light is an understatement, it was more of a neon green light flashing "shoot it." -
Wow, ok. To me this isn't a real school. We have LaLumieire prep school over here in Indiana. I believe they have 1 kid on their roster that is actually from Indiana. I do not count them as legit team, it's basically an aau all star team. I know how it sounds, old fashion and prep schools are the future but I would not want a prep school like that to play in the IHSAA tourney or KHSAA tourney. As far as difference in Indiana and Kentucky I for one know that the game is officiated differently. It's hard to even go a quarter without at least 2 or 3 traveling calls over here, must have been a point of emphasis. In Kentucky, especially in the Louisville area the refs tend to swallow their whistles more. Kentucky has had their good players, it's just that they tend to move away to prep schools, like D'angelo and Rondo. That is just now hitting Indiana as well with 3 of the top 5 seniors moving to prep schools up here. The population sizes of Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne, Evansville, and Gary compared to Louisville and Lexington have something to do with how many "good players" come out of each state. I love how Kentucky has their tournament set up. I wish Indiana still had their one class/ one state champion as well. Both states are good in their own ways and love being so close to Kentucky that I can also attend games in the bluegrass as well as in Indiana.

There's alot of h.s. teams that could use a 7 foot kid, J.C. just does not use him. They play to fast to have him on the floor very much and their offense is #3 drives the lane and throws up a shot, in which a 7 footer just clogs things up or Blair fires from 3. Blair was en fuego in the the 3rd quarter and he cooled off in the 2nd OT, hence the 6 pt loss. Idk much about the region J.C. is in but they run and shoot from the opening tip, they will be hard to knock out when Blair is on. If Blair has an entire of game of being off, they could be knocked out early. -
I guess they're not as nice as I thought. 1-8??? Their schedule must have been brutal. Shelby is up 36-31 @ half. J.C. stepped it up and pushed the tempo. #3 for J.C. is a road runner, alwats running and going towards the basket. If they can get some good shots instead of just run and gun, they'll win. Not sure how much more Shelby Co. can hold a lead @ this pace.

Pendleton vs Collins predictions
Indiana Patrick replied to Indiana Patrick's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Defense, using and going to his left, stronger, rebounding, more assertive, being a closer and not letting his team lose to a team like Collins. But he's only a soph., still time to improve. 2 more yrs. of h.s. ball and aau should really benefit him (if he's being coached right). I like his game. -

Pendleton Co. ties it up after 3, 45-45. Allen has 22 and some real nice passes. A college like NKU would be a great fit, maybe a higher level if he improves some things. -

Collins up 38-30 @ half. Allen has 15. Seems like he could score or get fouled each time he drives the ball. Collins is not a bad team. If they get hot maybe they could make a run in the 8th. -

Collins up 24-12 after 1. Allen has 9. He needs to touch the ball every single possession -
What's everyone's thoughts on this game? How many total pts for Allen? I'm here, I'll try and keep it updated after each quarter.

Ok, I know Indiana schools can't play schools a certain amount of miles away from the Indiana border, hence teams from Indiana aren't allowed in the KOB. How about next year inviting 3 or 4 Indiana teams, that way they're only playing Kentucky schools and it would be allowed (I believe). Invite New Albany and Romeo as your big time recruit from out of state. Maybe fort wayne north side, who's got one of that top sophs. in the country. Just a suggestion, idk if it's possible but worth a look for one year. Guaranteed every game New Albany played would be sold out so everyone wins. -

What was up with the guy in the stands yelling @ Lovan going into the locker room? Lovan appearantly gets hurt on a play before halftime and is limping around and some idiot in the stands yells, "aww poor baby," or "quit being a baby," (something of that nature) so loudly that Lovan looks up there and I thought he might pull a Ron Artest for a minute. Luckily an assistant coach was right there with Lovan and yelled, he's on the court and you're not. Some words were exchanged from Lovan but man, this wasn't some h.s. kids, it was 1 grown man. I was almost pulling for Lovan to run up there and teach him a lesson. -
Trinity 70 Covington Catholic 60
Indiana Patrick replied to THS2011's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
10 might be alot to make up, especially how the 2nd half went but with Thelan (who I'm told twisted an ankle Saturday) and Aiden I believe this is a different ball game. The press doesn't create as many turnovers and doesn't rush Cov Cath. as much with their starting pg in there. I know Trinity has one of their best out too but I feel like if they have a rematch (and more time for Walter to improve) it will be a closer game. Cov Cath has the players to beat Trinity. Out of 10 games I would say each one wins 5, it's that even.
