  1. One thing I think we all can agree on in here, the Roy will be rocking come March. As a Hoosier I've come to really love going to Henry Co. for the region and make it a must every yr., no matter my schedule with teaching and coaching middle school ball. Looks like this yr may be one of the most competitive.
  2. The reason I had AC over WV is because of experience. Past 2 yrs finished as runner up in the region and last yrs game could have gone either way. In my opinion Penny is better than Stanley, the big time X factor will be Miles. Like someone mentioned on here, AC is far from a one man show but Penny is their engine. If Miles has improved offensively then nobody in the 8th will be able to stop him. He's already a huge difference maker on the defensive end. I have not seen SK and Kelch (I'm hoping to sometime this yr) and some on here think he's the best big man in the 8th. He's a 6'9 D1 kid so he just may be the best. It would be just like one of the Oldham schools to sneak up on everyone and come out of the region. I believe its O.C. that has some good players returning. Can't count Collins out either with arguably the state's best soph. pg, experience, and really good coaching. Someone's gonna have to come out of the Carroll Co, Henry Co., Eminence, Gallatin Co., and Owen Co. and make it to the region. Seems like I was told Gallatin would be favored but I have no idea who's their main returning players.
  3. According to the Bolus rankings, Kunkel isn't even top 12 in the '18 class and Zach Kelch isn't in the top 50. I hope these kids see that list and ball out this yr.
  4. Haha, a dislike? Did I forget one of your favorites. It's simply my opinion. I said arguably. I can understand if some of you have Kunkel ahead of Fredrick. They're pretty close. I would put those 4 ahead of Moreno and Faulkner.
  5. Johnson is arguably the top overall player in Kentucky regardless of class, along with Harmon and Fredrick.
  6. Does the Stanley move push WV over the top as the clear favorite in the 8th now? I have to admit it makes me second guess my A.C. pick. Hard for Cobe to overcome Miles, Clinkenbeard, and Stanley. Same goes for McKnight @ Collins. WV having arguably 3/5 best players in the region tends to change things.
  7. Wow, Stanley over someone like Cobe Penny @ AC? Stanley is nice but isn't he like 5'7? Idk if I see him stopping Penny or McKnight (soph. @ Collins) in the 8th. I would like to wait and see how Miles (from WV) game has improved over the summer but he could be a potential top 15 kid in the state. His matchup vs Kelch should be a good one in the 8th.
  8. Heard he just committed to Iowa. Exactly the right fit for him and the Hawkeyes. Congrats!
  9. Even though they lost Wilson? Idk who they return. But none of the 31st look to be serious region contenders.
  10. Wow, some have said AC, many think WV, Spencer will be very competitive, SK has been mentioned, now someone brings up Collins, and I haven't even brought up the Oldham schools. And 2 teams out of OC, Henry Co, Carroll Co., Gallatin Co., Eminence will make it to the region next March. What a fun and loaded yr it should be in the 8th region.
  11. Great list. I gotta give some love to a couple 8th region kids, Penny from Anderson Co. and Miles from Walton Verona. Not sure they would break into this list of 10 but deffinetly worth consideration.
  12. Ya, that was my first thought. KOB gonna have to start waiting to see who enrolls where before making their lineups official. Maybe BG will back out now. I also saw Adair Co. schedule is out and they have a tourney scheduled doe that time and alot of local competition. I hope they change and beef up their schedule bcos Adair Co. is a long way from the Indiana border
  13. Does this mean Adair Co. will be invited as a replacement in the KOB? Idk if that's possible but I was hoping to catch Harmon there this yr.
  14. Good to hear, A.C. needs that to get out of a tough 8th. 2 runner up finishes @ the region have me feeling like they're on a mission to get to Rupp. WV has the deeper team but Penny is the best player.
  15. Owen Co. represented the small schools very well a couple yra ago. And they were also from the 8th. With WV and Anderson Co. getting invites is it safe to say one of these two will be preseason favorites in the 8th? Alot of ppl on here still seem to like Collins. I personally think Turner will be a big loss for them.
  16. 1. Jake Ohmer 2. The Jake 3. Read #1 and #2 No, in all honesty if Jake would have hit that shot against BG an argument could be made that he had the single best 3 weeks in khsaa history. My real list would include, Coleman, Unseld, Griffith, Farmer (bcos of what all he meant to the state of kentucky; not bcos he was a top 5 overall talent).
  17. What leagues are some of these teams playing in? I'd like to check them out sometime this month
  18. True on both accounts. Bowen, who played @ the prep school in Laporte isn't allowed to play in any IHSAA events. We don't consider that an Indiana school. Bowen's a Michigan kid anyways. Williams and Nunge on the other are two 6'11 difference makers. All you Louisville Cardinal fans will enjoy Williams the next few years. A farther along and more developed version of Ray Spalding with 3 pt range. Might even play some @ the wing position. For the record, the Jake could play and star for most any h.s. team here in Indiana as well. Wouldn't be surprised if Kentucky lobbies for an end to the series after tonight's W. Lol
  19. The Bruins are in a summer league here in Indiana and last night I got to watch them play a local power. Now granted, their opponent was playing without their top 3 player in the nation but the Bruins picked up a W. I know they graduated Wilson and Patterson, their 2 top guys from last years elite 8 team but I was very impressed. I was thinking, who are these guys? They were all flying all over the court with their press and took it in strong. Very physical. Ballard has to be mentioned as one of the top programs in the state, if not the best, year in and year out. Anyone know their team? I was highly impressed, even if it was just a summer league game.
  20. I can't find the schedule and rosters anywhere. It should be on their site but it's a wrong link and doesn't direct me to the correct place. Anyone have a roster or schedule?
  21. I really like Wale's game from F.C. too. Especially if he gets to 6'0. Super quick. Walter has great potential and will get alot better in college but still waiting for him to dominate the h.s. game.
  22. Nice! But he's #6 on my list. Also, Kunkel is a little better than #9 in the class of '18
