Covington Catholic 73 Holmes 45
Indiana Patrick replied to Bluesport's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I agree 100%. I saw HC against Newport and they are dangerous. No team would be happier to see HC out of the tourney than Newport. I am not sure Newport could beat them for a third time this year. I have to roll with Cov Cath winning this district. Where will it be played at? -
Gallatin County 79 South Oldham 75
Indiana Patrick replied to Mack The Knife's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Flip a coin between 5 or 6 teams in the 8th. Gallatin with back to back good road wins against SK and now SO. Jones has Gallatin peaking 3 weeks before the Roy. Make room for me on the Gallatin bandwagon! -

Newport up 64-38 midway through the 3rd quarter. Newport is good but so close to being really good. -

Their big three. Miller, McGuire, and Harding. Newport will be a tough out. They only have one speed, Go. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost this game or won by 30. -
Ninth region games February 1
Indiana Patrick replied to Indiana Patrick's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You are right. That would be a good game. The Cov Cath at Beechwood game eliminates that option. Now with the CC vs Scott game I have another option. Thanks! Newport game is still on with tickets available and with HC beating Conner, I feel like that will be a close game. Is this a district seeding game as well? -
Ninth region games February 1

Which game is sold out? -
I'm deciding between two games tonight and want to know everyones thoughts on which game will be the best. Cov. Cath. plays at Beechwood or Holy Cross plays at Newport? I have not seen the Draud kid play but I've never been to a game at Newport before. Both should be great but unfortunately there's only one of me. It's a ninth region night!

I can't wait for these regionals. Cov Cath, Cooper, Newport, Beechwood, and Highlands will be a real battle. I feel like any one of these 5 teams could beat each other on a given night. Some of you may not feel a 11-9 Highlands team is in the same level as the top four but when healthy they are really solid. I like their team.

Ballard 73 Doss 62
Indiana Patrick replied to Smallhoops's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Anyone know about this 8th grader on Ballard. Heard he had a dunk and has been putting up decent numbers. When you play varisty for Ballard in 8th grade, you go some serious game. I believe his name is Kaleb -

Yes. They are in 1A which is the smallest enrollment class. They come from a small community with a heavy amish population in the southwest part of Indiana. The other teams from Indiana that played yesterday were good 3A schools that play tough competition and have some good talent. Both Heritage Hills and Silver Creek are state title contenders this year in the 2nd largest class in Indiana. -
Crossing the border to check out this game tonight. It will be my first time seeing Niece this year but saw him drop 37 (I believe) as a freshman at the Roy last year in a loss to Gallatin. Will Highlands be at full strength? Who wins this game?
