  1. Seems like the officials moved residency to the Shelbyville area between the 3rd and 4th quarter. Collins getting the benefit of calls now. Oldham up 3 with 6 minutes left.
  2. 39-32 Oldham after 3. If they call a 5th foul on McKnight the Collins side will explode.
  3. As an impartial observer I'm not sure these refs don't reside in Oldham County. Collins fan are going to jump into the floor if one more 50/50 call goes against them.
  4. These refs are letting everything go, except on McKnight. Picks up his 4th foul with 5 minutes left in the 3rd. Tied at 30.
  5. McKnight takes alot of chances on defense. Picks up his 3rd foul early on.
  6. Oldham up 3 with 3 left in the 2nd quarter. #31 for OC has been lighting Collins up behind the arc.
  7. The toughest opening round game in the 8th to predict IMO. I feel like it could go either way. Some would say GC is the hot team and SK is going the opposite direction but GC took out SK in last years 8th region opening round. Niece dropped 37 on GC last year I believe. That was the one and only time I've seen him play and am looking forward to it tomorrow night as well. The soph. is the real deal. The Bowen, Coomer, Rasmin combo is tough and McAllister and Dickerson are more than capable of knocking down open 3's. I would lean just a bit towards GC because of Jones is on the Cats sideline but it wouldn't surprise me to see SK redeem their late season skid and make a run to the finals. I am looking forward to a great game at a great venue with those amazing fish sandwiches at the Roy!
  8. Heart says Gallatin. Head says WV v Collins in the finals with WV taking it. I'd never dare count out South Oldham either. They're my dark horse. As an Indiana guy I look forward to going to the 8th region at the Roy every year. One of my favorite places to watch a game.
  9. I wish these games were a little more spread out like in years past but I guess since the Sweet 16 is early this year so everyone is pretty much all on the same schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. In years past I could get to more games because a final may be played on the following Monday or Tuesday. I think one of the 9th region finals I went to was on a Sunday once. Anyways, I don't know if I'll get to make it to any 9th region games but if it goes anything like the regular season, there will be surprises. I still expect Cov Cath and Cooper to meet in the finals but if Newport beats Conner which is a big IF. Then I give them a decent shot at beating Cov Cath. Would not surprise me to see Highlands win a game or 2. Sisson is a man inside and won't go down without a fight. I'm sure Beechwood is riding high after 2 wins v Cov Cath. Not sure if they'll be a letdown or not. They won their first district in a while so that's a check off the bucket list but a trip to Rupp will be twice as hard. My prediction is Cov Cath v Cooper in the finals. Upset prediction would be Newport v Beechwood. If that's the case, I will be there Saturday night at the Bank.
  10. Newport survives a halfcourt 3 from Higblands to win by 3. Harding with 2 big free throws to push the lead to 3. Great game.
  11. 61-56 Newport with 23 seconds. As a neutral fan the last call on Sisson for over the back was bogus.
  12. Newport up 4 with 1:30 left. Once Newport threw on the press the game changed for the Birds
  13. Im not sure. Highlands up 34-32. #4 for Newport has 19. Sisson has 10.
  14. Really good and fast 1st quarter. Highlands up 18-16.
  15. Thanks for your input everyone. They are all can't lose games for the casual fan. I went up the hill and met up with some buddies to watch Highlands and Newport. Hoping for a close game! Keep me updated on all the rest of the games. Good luck to every team and the fans are the real winners getting to see these kids put it on the line for a title.
  16. It's now or never for Newport and their senior class. I have a feeling they will knock off either Cooper or Cov Cath. Too good of group to just go quietly.
  17. Not all may agree but I really miss the region being played at Bellarmine.
  18. It's Trinity's to lose. Ballard and Tinity have owned this region this past decade. Will Male be able to make an upset run a year early? I gotta suspect Male to be the preseason favorites next year.
