  1. I am looking forward to seeing how the freshman, Starks develops. Now if Rayvon Griffith had decided to cross the bridge instead of going to Hughes in Cincinnati then they're in the discussion.
  2. Trinity is more than likely not even preseason number 1 in their own district. Scenica has some nice pieces to replace them at the top this year. Covington Catholic sure does have a loyal following on here. The 7 foot move in from Evansville is a nice addition but very raw offensively. Preseason number one? No. Not sure they have a Kentucky all star on their team unless it's Drisken and he's borderline. 9th region favorites I will buy but not statewide preseason number 1. Sorry, and I love the passion CCH has for their basketball program but to put them in the same category as Male is not accurate or fair to either team. Collins, Marshall County, North Oldham, Henry Clay, Fern Creek, North Hopkins all above Cov. Cath in my book. And I saw my fair share of games in June ball.
  3. I like the field and will down there at least a couple days from Indiana. McKnight and Veil are the real deal at Collins and could win this tourney. South Oldham is capable of getting hot on a given night and play with anyone. I'm interested in seeing the Powell kid at North Oldham. And Male is beyond loaded, probable favorites and preseason number 1 in Kentucky. Only team I may have tried to add would have been Fern Creek but there's plenty of talent.
  4. Went down to Shelbyville today to watch a few games. First game I saw was Collina v. Male and IMO it was the bet game of the day. Collins was up most of the game and took a 6-8 point lead into the final 5 minutes. Some misses free throws proved costly and Male ended the game on a big run winning by 6. Collina is the real deal and I would have to favor them in the 8th region after what I saw today. McKnight and Veil are studs. Male did what Male does. Deep, tall, athletic, and talented was too much for Collins. This game was worthy of a possible state semi finals at Rupp come next March. Second game I watched was South Oldham v. Scott County. The Dragons dominated from the very beginning. I know SC lost alot from last year. Morrison was not the Dragons only shooter, no surprise if you know South Oldham. IMO they're not on Collins level as of now but when a 3 point shooting team gets hot you never know. The Dragons always get better throughout the season. The third game was Louisville Butler v. Henry Clay. I honestly dont know much about either team. I know HC has some decent players and their hustle finally matched their athletiscm in the 2nd half. Butler shoots alot of 3s and need to shoot a higher percentage if they're going to take that many. They're a typical fast and athletic Louisville-type team but HC ended up with the W by 7 or 8. The final and championship game was between Male and Fern Creek. Male came out hot and that's game over when they're on. The Dogs built a 8-10 point lead that they kept for most of the game. Fern Creek for it down to 4 with about a minute left but couldn't get any closer. Rogers for Fern Creek is super fast and will do some big things for FC this year and next. The 6'8 Washington kid is really raw right now and if he gets more aggressive he could do some damage. Courtney, Maxey, Evans, Glenn, and Flemming is a mean starting 5 to throw out at opponents. Not many in Kentucky can match their five and IMO the best team in Kentucky (in June for whatever that is worth). The energy and enthusiasm for Male on the sidelines and in the stands is really special. They know they've got the goods to cut down nets in March. Courtney I believe got a Georgetown offer today and if I'm big time coach, I'm making sure I show 6'6 incoming freshman Kaleb Glenn alot of love. High D1 prospect.
  5. 2020. He's got interest from Evansville, Indiana State, and Morehead State.
  6. The kids name is Noah Hupmann. He came from a small private school in Evansville, Indiana and led the state in blocked shots I believe. His dad played college ball for Univ. Evansville.
  7. Male beat Marshall County by 10 in OT this evening I read online. Zion for MC did play.
  8. The district with the 3 Oldham schools will be tough. Saw Oldham County a couple weeks ago and they looked pretty good and with North Oldham having the Powell kid who's a Mr. Basketball candidate and South Oldham having All Star candidate Luke Morrison, one of the Oldhams will not make it to the region.
  9. @Cardsrule1972 you are such a diehard SC fan I may have to jump on that bandwagon next year at the Roy. I appreciate someone who supports their team through thick and thin. I have not seen your team and may have to make it a point to watch a SC game next year.
  10. I dont claim to know about every Kentucky team but it seems to me in mid June Louisville Male and Henry Clay are separating themselves as the top 2 teams in the state next season.
  11. Saw a couple scores on Twitter. Lex. Cath. beat Fern Creek. Sounded like Johnson for LC had a monster game. Male went 4-0, not sure who they played. And although not listed I saw Harlan beat Scott Co.
  12. North Oldham has some real good talent over there. Not sure why he'd leave for Trinity unless it's an academics issue. Good to hear Hardin is still with HC. Would love to see some 8th region ball this month, what are some of the leagues and when?
  13. I only saw Highlands one game against a team I know very well. That team was also coming off a game right before. Maybe Highlands was cold that game. I think Madison's (out of Indiana) press had something to do with it. I am aware of Vinson and he's a good player. I saw Newport two games and they won by 2 the first game I saw them and lost the game against Madison. Coach Snapp was quite the "character" on the sidelines for Newport.
  14. Oops, I always think of Timble County along with Owen, Carroll, Eminence, Gallatin, and Henry. Must be because of the small school size. My bad.
  15. Saw Newport and Highlands play at this summer camp tourney at Hanover this weekend and although Newport lost alot I was more impressed with them than I was Highlands. #11 for Newport is a definite shooter. May be the coaches kid? I thought Highlands had a good 8th grader going into 9th but I didn't see anyone that stood out. The games I saw both teams lost to decent but average Indiana teams.
  16. Supplee, Rassmin, Hardin (if he's still there at Henry Co.), Webster, and are you thinking of Mumphrey?
  17. So is Niece from SK out for the year with the injury? Also, I saw just a brief game of Henry County at this summer league in Indiana this weekend and did not see Trevor Hardin. Is he still with the team or did he go somewhere else? Big hit for both teams if they lose those guys. Also, I really like what I'm hearing about Carroll County's new coach. Could be a real nice year for them.
  18. Another Kentucky school that was playing was J-town and they beat up on a pretty weak small school in Indiana that lost their top 6 or 7 kids. It was hard to tell if J-town was good or the other team that bad but the Chargers do have a transfer from Jeffersonville Indiana who's a pretty decent player in the 2021 class.
  19. I don't know, thought the same for Indiana schools but the league started up. Seemed to be an organized event, as summer ball goes anyway. Its played on the Indiana side every Tuesday and Thursday and in Louisville Monday and Wednesday's I believe. Some good teams involved but doubt any teams in it are as good as Male.
  20. Well, regardless if he decides to enroll there in August or not Male has a real good team. I noticed how positive their coach is with his players. Even after a reach in or cheap foul was made he was fine with it as long as his team was the aggressor. I respect that.
  21. Went to New Albany in Indiana to watch a few games and watched the Male team destroy a pretty good New Albany team by 20 plus. Their press was quick and were relentless on defense. They were on fire from beyond the arc as well. I came in expecting a potential good team and I was not disappointed. About as good as you could look for May 30th. Their guard #3 had a great game and their incoming freshman, Glenn fit in very well. New Albany expects to be a top 10-15 team in Indiana this upcoming year and starts a 6'5, 6'6, and 6'7 but still couldn't do much against Male. The Trinity/ Ballard run of 7th region titles is in serious jeopardy this year.
  22. Not sure about 7th grade but from the two games I saw last season he started for Ballard as an eighth grader. He got plenty of playing time and the Bruins return some good pieces. Male returns most everyone and add this kid. The Male at Ballard game last year was wild so I can only imagine next year.
  23. With summer ball about to start Kaleb Glenn, one of the top 2023 kids in the state will now be playing for a loaded Male team and leaving Ballard. Male has to come into next year as the number one team in Kentucky IMO. He's just now going into freshman year so there should be no issues with being eligible. This kid is loaded with potential.
  24. Wow, I hate to hear this. I hope he can get back and healthy before the tourney next year but more importantly getting back to 100% for his senior year and college. If I'm not mistaken it's usually a 10-12 month timeframe.
  25. Seeing some AAU highlights of 2021 kid, Hunter Penn for Woodford. He looks like a real nice player and you can add them to the list that may make it to regions next year. Been hearing good things this spring from Luke Morrison, Wyatt Supplee and McKnight
