It's my favorite time of year but as most of us can relate to, there's too many games and not enough time to see them all. I am trying to decide between 4 district games on Thursday night and I need your help. I am looking for a great atmosphere, good teams and players, and a close game.

Game 1. Newport v Highlands. I really like this game and am leaning slightly towards this one. I feel like Highlands had their scare last night and the game in December between these two was a good one. Sisson v Harding is a man's matchup inside.

Game 2. Simon Kenton v Walton Verona. I have not yet seen SK this year and although I will see them at the Roy next week, I feel like this could be a good one. Niece and Miles make this game special.

Game 3. Scott v Campbell Co. I hear Scott is playing really well right now and I have not seen either team this season. I won't get go see them at the region because Mason Co. is too far. Jolly may be worth the trip to this game.

Game 4. Beechwood v Covington Catholic. I have not seen the Draud kid and I missed the last meeting between these two because it was sold out. I have a hard time believing Beechwood beats Cov Cath twice in a row so I'm not sure how good this game will be.

It's a can't lose because they're all good game games but I'm looking for that one great game. Friday night is reserved for the district final at Spencer County.

The SK vs WV will be a packed house and any time these 2 teams meet it is a barn burner!

All great choices.

The Campbell County vs Scott game should be a great game. This has become quite the match up the last few years- most games going to the wire and being decided by a point or two. These two teams could also meet back up in the regional championship with a ticket to Rupp on the line. If this happens, a trip to the Field House in Mason would be worth going to. I was there a couple years ago when Jake Ohmer made the 3 point shot with time running out that sent the Eagles to Rupp where they had a great run. What a game it was!!!

Tough choice for me. All four are worthy of consideration, but I'd probably go with Walton-Verona/Simon Kenton.

The Harding vs Sisson matchup will be worth seeing.

All will be very good games, you can also add the Gallatin County/Henry county game.

I know you said that you already had Friday night scheduled but if Scott Co. beats Douglass tonight their final vs Henry Clay will be Friday at Clay and will be a district final between two teams ranked in the top 5. You don't see that very often in a district final.

Obviously I'd steer you towards Independence but that would leave one less seat for me. Between those three I'd go CCH/Beechwood, Scott/Campbell HHS/Newport.

Not sure why it wasn't listed, but Cooper and Conner will be good as well. May not be the best game but these are big time rivals and typically have gone at each other. If I had to pick another couple games it would be Scott v. Campbell or Newport v. Highlands.

The Harding vs Sisson matchup will be worth seeing.

I was thinking the same. Two big physical guys going head to head.

Newport v. Highlands. I'd pay up for that one. Interesting matchups throughout the rosters.

I believe there are still games being played tonight, but I will play along and even add Cooper v Connor and SHHS v Lloyd.

I honestly believe any team can win any of these games. At least 3 of them were losing at half time last night!

Below are what I think will be the best games in order, and the winner:

1. WV avenges a loss to SK.

2. Newport beats HHS

3. CCH takes revenge on BW

4. Campbell beats Scott in a close one

5. Cooper beats Connor but I feel there is upset potential here.

6. SHHS vs Lloyd - pick em

Doesn’t Lloyd have to beat Dixie tonight, first?

Doesn’t Lloyd have to beat Dixie tonight, first?

Yes indeed.
