  1. If the KHSAA was made to watch that video, maybe Smith gets reversed. But one Taylor player shoved a LaRue player in the back and then flipped off the crowd. A second Taylor starter pushed a LaRue player before shoving a ref. A review would NOT have been kind to Taylor. There is also NO appeal unless the refs got the wrong number and NOT because of "did he do enough to be ejected". Since this really wasn't about Jersey/number confusion, appeal was worthless.
  2. Nope. Lincoln beat Boyle, 112-110 in overtime just two seasons ago.
  3. There is NO "Christian High School" in Baton Rouge. Lefors' alma mater was Christian Life Academy, but the school is now known as The Church Academy. Church Academy HAS a head coach: Bluegrass Miracle QB Marcus Randall. (link: After Rough First Season, The Church Academy Crusaders Are On The Way Up In Year Two Under Head Coach Marcus Randall – LA Football Magazine) lafootballmagazine.com/news/c48-recru…
  4. Yup. Definitely open now. Wasn't official at the time when I posted the clarification. Job was posted on the listserve last week.
  5. Same people, different voting areas. First team QB was also a Mr. Football finalist. Second team QB was not eligible for Mr. Football and thus his inclusion has nothing to do with Estep. What if four of the Mr. Football finalists were RBs? Surely you wouldn't expect all four to be first team.
  6. So IF I was to go to Gatlinburg on Saturday (I have some time off), any media outlets willing to contribute $20 or so to coverage? I'd try and get quotes from whichever players needed
  7. Got an email from assistant coach Chris McNamee this morning: "Still working to complete the roster as some of the players selected will not be able to participate."
  8. Other players on roster confirmed on Twitter: Alan Brown (Louisville Ballard) Wiley Cain (Pulaski County) Luke Gregory (Southwestern) Trae Griffith (Pulaski County) Osman Sall (Fern Creek)
  9. Boyd is my favorite. Been playing really well. Ryle right with them and has a revenge factor (see what E'town did to Eastern over the weekend after Eastern won the first meeting at Bullitt East). Dark horses are Mercy and CAL. Mercy had good showing in Florida and Shorter is getting better and better in her return (ACL). CAL, if healthy, has a six-man rotation that can run with anyone. DI signee senior, DI bound junior and DI offered senior to go along with an athletic young guard.
  10. They were picked after last season based on what they had returning. They already had them scheduled in for 3 games at max (state teams receive byes through to the quarterfinals) and at max would have to play Friday-Saturday-Sunday to minimize their school day travel to Louisville.
  11. Using Herald-Leader's Cantrall Ratings to seed the four predetermined state teams and the top 12 combined teams from the 6th and 7th Regions:
  12. Sacred Heart goes from unranked in Week 2 to SEVENTH in Week 3? I haven't seen a jump like that since I saw cult classic Kangaroo Jack.
  13. Nothing new. Just got confirmation from Waggener that the job is not open and has not been posted.
  14. Got a message from Seneca AD Scott Ricks earlier this morning. Seneca is NOT open.
  15. I went off someone else's info about Waggener and I apologized for being wrong. I have been told by sources inside Waggener that Waggener is NOT open.
  16. Both Rivette and Shorter tore their ACLs. Should both be back in January.
  17. Seventh Region high school girls basketball preview "With multiple scholarship offers from Division I schools, Toller is the leader but still is recovering from an ACL injury suffered in February. Moir said Toller likely won’t see game action until December, at the earliest." Kentucky girls basketball: Sacred Heart tops Seventh Region "The team’s depth took a hit when 5-10 junior forward Amy Barry was lost for the season with an ACL injury." Toller is by far Sacred Heart's best player and is out for a while. Believe she has an offer from Tennessee. Losing Barry also hurt, as she was going to be the sixth man to Clemons. When Sacred Heart gets Toller back, E'town gets post Leikyn Walker back and Mercy gets senior guard Sydney Rivette/senior power forward Jaylyn Shorter both back, all three top-20 teams will be improved.

  19. Think we are up to 11 varsity head coaching openings now: * Bourbon * Boyd * Bullitt East * Dayton * Estill * Great Crossing (New school in Scott Co) * Green * Middlesboro * Shawnee * Scott High (NKY) * Whitley
