  5. About your guarantee. E'town is smaller than John Hardin. Both E'town boys and girls teams are ranked in top 25. NEITHER has played in the 2A yet. So no, not every 2A eligible team plays in the 2A. Another fun fact: The 2A was founded in E'town, yet the host city doesn't compete.
  6. There's a flaw in that. Say Podunk and Cowtown are the two best teams. Other coaches, before the tourney, get together without Podunk/Cowtown and in a voting block, vote Podunk first and Cowtown last. Therefore knocking out half your main competition in Round 1.
  7. I hate to be Negative Nancy, but I'm with others: What makes it "state of the art" and why? Don't get me wrong, it's nice. Really nice. One of nicest gyms I've seen. But what new-to-the-market or new-to-design option does this gym have that hardly anyone else does? It happens all the time in my home town. Some fitness center or CrossFit place will label itself as state of the art, only I can look at its list of Pro's and find it elsewhere. Likely close, too.
  8. There are many districts with 5 teams. Haven't checked recently, but there used to be six-team districts. And some of those 5s could (and did) beat 4s or 3s from another district. So you can't argue we're trying to include the best and then not (because a 5-seed plays in a loaded district). Also, how are you determining the 3-4 seeds? Are we going back to a consolation/third-place game? If you do that, teams could lose three straight postseason games (district semis, district consolation, region opener). Furthermore, spreading out your round of 16 and round of 8 super region games weakens your officials pool (remember, most regions swap refs with other regions) and weakens your media coverage (because you're at separate sites). If you force everyone to play everyone in the region to seed, you are hurting teams' chances in the national rankings (because you are forcing them to play bottom feeders), you're probably not drawing flies at those games (instead of playing a longtime rival from another region or a high-quality opponent from another region) and you're making for some really late nights across geographically-huge regions (or forcing them to play a game they don't want to play on Saturday when they could play a neutral-court showcase against a better team). Too many logistics to work out before I would even say "maybe" to this idea.
  9. I think Sacred Heart and E'town have both won 15 straight district titles
  10. Input in equals input out. Bad input equals bad data. The KHSAA RPI would be screwy if scores (W/L) were reversed or if teams confused Madison Central with Madison Southern or Madisonville-North Hopkins. Can't really say AP is all that awesome when Lexington Christian (8-22) is getting top-10 votes. And KHSAA RPI does not include out of state or point differential (so a last-second buzzer beater at home counts the same as running clocking someone on the road):
  11. I find it hilarious that Lewis is somehow at fault as a whistleblower in a case that should have never advanced this far to begin with. If what I've been told is true, the guilty parties nees to shut up and suck it up and drop it at this point because outside of telling Greenup about an investigation, the KHSAA has not issued a punishment or mandate at all yet.
  12. Did letting a player who should have likely never been ruled eligible in the first place pay off for Greenup?
  13. Anderson County weekly newspaper editor says,"BREAKING: Mark Peach, the winningest football coach in Anderson County history, won’t return as the head coach for the Bearcats next season, sources confirm to the Anderson News." Twitter
  14. If you lie, it is a heck of a lot easier to be cleared than to tell the truth and not meet qualifications/standards. Paperwork was wrong. Got caught later. These are the consequences. Being cleared under false pretenses doesn't mean the KHSAA has to eat its mistake (when it didn't even know it was a mistake) and doesn't mean Greenup to reap the benefits of sneaking one in.
  15. Don't know if that was sarcasm or not. But not feasible in a place like Louisville. And what if there was very little on the outside to tell who actually lived there. With far less schools to cover, should be upon school then school district to verify address before KHSAA.
  16. Some of these bylaws the member schools proposed. Let's not forget that. Don't act like Julian just woke up one day and told his scribe to get the ink well and add all these to his scroll.
  17. All school year? He played five football games for Woodford County in 2019. Check Woodford's KHSAA stats.
  18. No. NO N.O. So a kid hangs on to his get outta jail free card til his senior year and decides he wants to join someone better? What if a bunch of AAU kids (especially in Louisville, Lexington or NKY) want to join the hot new hire?
  19. No. If Greenup was 2 and then they drop all the way to the bottom, would you want to be a 1 now facing a last-seeded Greenup? Makes Greenup's road harder, but doesn't exactly reward other teams.
  20. If the kid never should have been ruled eligible anyway for a VARIETY of issues (connection to AAU coach hired as assistant, questionable new address), then the school will be LUCKY if there aren't further sanctions. I'm shocked forfeits haven't been mentioned or loss of stats/records. I look at this as the super stepping in and saving the program from itself.
  21. Usually if a sole interim coach is named and that particular person shows they can do the job, that person is promoted to permanent coach. Also could be a stipend issue at play. My guess is this stops both of these issues.
  22. Like I said, superintendent believes transfer info was incorrect or doctored.
  23. I think John Hardin is a winnable locale. 1) Been told new super (who was NOT there when John Hardin was built) would like to redistrict. As a local, makes little sense North Hardin and Central Hardin are so big (and NH had to be renovated) while John Hardin remains small enrollment wise while being huge physically and classroom wise. 2) New announced Fort Knox leadership corps could mean more people living off post and working at Knox (that JH finalist team was full of such). 3) You're NOT in a class with Male/T/X like the other two Hardins are.
  24. The board doesn't verify. They stamp OK. They're not driving by and making sure people actually live where they wrote down.
