  1. This is LaRue's first region title since 91, NOT 92. https://khsaa.org/records/football/fb90syearbyyear.pdf 90 5-5 91 13-1 92 7-5 93 6-6 94 4-6 95 2-9 96 4-7 98 3-8 99 11-2 00 10-2 (I made the same mistake and called it 91 as well because I saw it from somebody else and did NOT fact check. Nate Bad. Nate correct himself on twitter).
  2. Keep in mind this is 1 v 1 only. Seeds/year designation over rules on any other matchup.
  3. Because of cross bracketing, you could end up with the same semifinal matchup from the year before BUT with teams technically representing different regions. And the host IS supposed to be based on the year (even region host in even year, odd region host in odd years). Because 6A changes regions every year, that don't fly. So if the matchup is the same as the previous year, the team which did NOT host last year DOES host this year. I know I suck at explaining things (you'd think I'd be better as a writer), but I tried.

  7. I've posted the details in various places! Basically Highlands kicked off and sent it all the way down field. St. X wasted no time. Ball got to midfielder, who played a great ball down left wing to an All State Player. All State Player A finds 2018 State Offensive Player of the Year in the goalmouth UNMARKED for an easy put away. Not sure what Highlands was thinking. Dumb idea combined with blown assignments against a really good team. Kinda sad it was the deciding goal, but I am sure Hopkinsville feels their pain. Some really good teams got beat on some really bad goals.

  9. NO. The KFCA will be giving out its OWN Mr. Football/Overall Kentucky State Player of the Year starting this year Award, still to be named, will be handed out during HALFTIME of the 5A state final. This will be voted on by KFCA members and is NOT in conjunction with AP Mr. Football. Just a different group handing out a top player award. While there is the Heisman in college football, the AP still hands out a National Player of the Year. The AFCA might, too. This is no different. Just another honor.
  10. As released to the press on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018, here is the inaugural Kentucky Prep Gridiron (@KPGfootball) Kentucky Middle School All-State Football Team (all players are class of 2023 unless noted) Official Link: Press Release: For Immediate Release…The 2
  11. Actually Jason Frakes is the one who tipped me off. He tweeted about it before I did. I just called and confirmed it and then put it out there.
  12. NO. It's in response to the AP will name Mr. Football and release its All-State Team whenever it feels like it. KFCA preferred a big award like that be recognized during football season. Been told by several folks it has NOTHING to do with Rondale Moore not winning.
  13. LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 29, 2018) – The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association is pleased to announce its 2018 All-State Teams, Ms. Kentucky Volleyball, KVCA Defensive Player of the Year and KVCA Coach of the Year. Each All-State team features at least two athletes from both AA and A programs. Rylee Rader of Assumption High School is the 2018 Ms. Kentucky Volleyball. Rader, a junior middle blocker, has helped lead her team with over 360 kills on a .563 hitting percentage to an undefeated 2018 season and the KHSAA State Title. Rader is the sixth KVCA Ms. Kentucky Volleyball awarded to a student-athlete at Assumption. Eleanor Beavin of Mercy Academy is the 2018 KVCA Defensive Player of the Year. Beavin is the inaugural winner of the KVCA Defensive Player of the Year. Kentucky has established itself as one the premier states in terms of developing and producing top college liberos with the likes of Morgan Hentz at Stanford and Kenzie Maloney at Nebraska. Beavin, a sophomore libero, led Mercy with over 500 digs at a pace of nearly 6 per set. Mercy ended the season by winning its 20th consecutive Region 6 championship and runner-up finish at the KHSAA State Tournament. Coach Ron Kordes of Assumption High School is the 2018 KVCA Coach of the Year. This is the first season in which the KVCA has selected a Coach of the Year. A decorated coach already, Kordes coached his team to an undefeated record, several #1 national rankings, and Assumption’s 21st KHSAA State Title. KVCA All-State Teams are voted on by KVCA member coaches. http://www.kvca.org/Portals/3/18%20KVCA%20All-State%20Release.pdf Apollo Carlee Widmer Honorable Mention Assumption Ron Kordes Coach Of The Year Assumption Anna DeBeer First Team Assumption Callie Martin Honorable Mention Assumption Camille Nazor First Team Assumption Karly Basham Second Team Assumption Rylee Rader Miss Volleyball / First Team Caldwell County Olivia Mitchell Honorable Mention Central Hardin Allie Simpson Second Team Central Hardin Kelsey Brangers Honorable Mention Cooper Morgan Kelly First Team Dixie Heights Irene Wogenstahl Honorable Mention Eastern Skylar Boom Second Team Greenwood Emmie Bender Second Team Greenwood Katie Howard Honorable Mention Henderson County Hannah Watkins Second Team Henry Clay Abby Shadwick First Team Henry Clay Taylor Trammell First Team Lexington Catholic McKenna Vicini First Team Logan County Karrah Cron Honorable Mention Male Camryn Rich Second Team McCracken County Hannah Rhinehart Second Team Mercy Eleanor Beavin Defensive Player of the Year / First Team Mercy Elena Scott Second Team Mercy Emma Schurfranz First Team Mercy Jayme Scott First Team North Oldham Addison Foote Second Team North Oldham Brie Postema First Team North Oldham Olivia Roberts Honorable Mention Notre Dame Abby Noll Second Team Notre Dame Belle Morgan First Team Notre Dame Shannon Gormally Honorable Mention Oldham County Sylvie Miller Second Team Paintsville Megan Taylor First Team Paul Dunbar Caroline Cole Honorable Mention Paul Dunbar Eleanor Davis Honorable Mention Paul Dunbar Peyton Gash Second Team Presentation Alexis Filmer Second Team Presentation Sophie Ball Second Team Ryle Lucy Trump First Team Sacred Heart Anna Burke Second Team Sacred Heart Kristen Clemons Second Team Seneca Mykole Morgan Honorable Mention St. Henry Bridget Bessler First Team St. Henry Maria Tobergte First Team Tates Creek Hannah Kazee Honorable Mention Tates Creek Lexie Deaton Honorable Mention Wolfe County Brooke Trompler Honorable Mention Wolfe County Hayden Drake Honorable Mention
