  1. Where did your coaches go, or where will they go?
  2. Absolutely horrible. Our prayers go out to all involved.
  3. I see that my beloved Ashland is nowhere in the mix. Wish that could change. Hopefully we will figure something out by the start of the season.
  4. As a coach, I cannot force a player to not go on spring break. The AD or Principal cannot for a player to not go on spring break. It is the parents decision on whether or not to allow their child to go on spring break. I don't see this as "cutting out on their team". Football is not in season. This is not the coaches decision. If parents want their child to go with them or allow them to go on their own, that's their prerogative. They shouldn't be punished for it.
  5. Congrats to Coach Haywood. What a great honor for a great coach. First Class...
  6. Sure will. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll let my contact know
  7. Actually, I heard it from someone who teaches at Greenup. I'm not one who would just go on here and make stuff up. My info is either first hand or second hand. In this case it's second hand. However, this person might have had incorrect info, not sure. I will try and verify my info.
  8. I don't see how they could bring him back. I believe he does still teach there. I think he is planning on teaching at Greenup next year. I don't think they can or will hire him back to coach. JMO I hope they do find a good fit for the program. It is a good place to be, teach, and coach. Good luck to whomever they choose. I would like to know a list of candidates.
  9. Was Russell not in a similar situation Dodd's last year? Wasn't Skaggs, a 7th grader, the starting point guard? When Kidwell took over, they struggled for a while. It was just a cycle. Not saying it's bad. Just saying that every school goes through a cycle where the talent, unfortunately isn't there. Not that there aren't good players, sometimes, as a whole, it's just not there. Again, I wish nothing but the best for Russell (all but when they play Ashland).
  10. Tough job, moving in to a situation where the cycle was down this year at Russell. I wish nothing but the best for both Jason and the Red Devils. Good luck to both, moving on with their future.
  11. Conley will be the centerpiece of the Devils' offense. I hope they have other play makers around him. What does it look like over on Red Devil Ln?
  12. A lot of good choices. I've seen Conley run, really good runner. However, I think Phelps is the front runner for the position. Man, from tape, that kid is impressive.
  13. Who's excited for spring football practice? When does everyone's start? What are you going to be looking for in your team?
  14. Ashland had an inter-squad scrimmage, this year could be interesting. 7 freshman and an 8th grader on the team.
  15. Didn't see that coming. Wow! Did Elliot go to the line a bunch down the stretch to set the final?
  16. Don't count out Johnson Central. As much as I'd love to see my Tomcats in there, it might be a little bit of a rebuilding year on Elm St.
  17. Ashland has always done a pre-game player walk. There are paw prints up Elm St. beside Putnam Stadium that the players walk to the main entrance of the stadium. Then walking through the crowd, we'd make our way the the steps leading down to the field. We would wait on the steps during the coin toss, then as the captains walked toward us we'd come on to the field in the center of the end zone. The PA guy would would announce, "Here come the Tomcats" while we ran on to the field toward our sideline. It's still exciting, even late in to my 30's, to watch them come on the field.
  18. I love #24's (Belfry) reaction to the dunk. That was impressive!!!
  19. Can someone please show the dunk that Timmy Dalton had against Belfry in this game? I saw it on social media. #redunkulous #SCtop10
  20. Good hire for Dunbar. I hate it for Greenup, I remember a few years ago when Mullins was in the hot seat. A couple of years later and building a winning program, he's a hot commodity. Good luck to the Musketeers and good luck, Coach Mullins.
  21. Congrats to Grant Krueger (Ashland Blazer) on his state championship in the 195 weight class. Great job!!!
  22. I actually listened to this two days ago in the car. My oldest son pulled it up on the comedy station on pandora. Classic!!! One of the best!!! "I think I will have me a Big Orange drink." :lol2:
  23. Congrats. They played very hard. Nice, shooters all around and extremely aggressive on defense. With only 8 players, it is a very sound team. Also, there is a nice write up in the Ashland Daily.
  24. I saw that there is an opening for an assistant football coach. Who is leaving, or is there just an added position?
