A.I.T. Freshman Tournament - Johnson Central Champions

Featured Replies

Johnson Central defeated Ashland at Ashland in the Semifinals then defeated Boyd County tonight in the championship to win the Freshman Ashland Invitational Tournament. Great field and great atmosphere all week long for the event. Crowds really came out to support these young men!

Congratulations to JC Head Coach Eddie Blair and all the freshman on an outstanding accomplishment in winning this tournament against some very good opponents. Gabe Farrell for JC has a bright future ahead of him for the Golden Eagles. If you havent got a chance to see him play, Gabe is almost a carbon copy of Kyle Gullett from JC at the same age. Their games, body style, and skill sets are very similar.

If you dont know who Kyle Gullett is, he has several starts as a true Freshman at D1 SEMO this season. Was POY in the 15th Region last season at JC and helped the Golden Eagles to 4 straight regional titles. 6'7'' shooter that plays above the rim with deadly range. Farrell is just a bit shorter, but plays exactly the same way and has great floor presence. Fun to watch! Again congrats Gabe and all of these freshman!

Congrats. They played very hard. Nice, shooters all around and extremely aggressive on defense. With only 8 players, it is a very sound team. Also, there is a nice write up in the Ashland Daily.
