The day I pay $30 to watch a high school football game; somebody kick me in the head. At WKU you could pay for parking if you chose to go into one of the structures, but there were plenty of lots where you didn’t have to pay a dime.

For the record; I hate engaging in threads like this because the fact of the matter is- 200 something football playing schools start out the year and only 12 are left, so who the hell really cares? To those that have made it; seize the moment all through the week and especially come Friday/Saturday or Sunday when you play. We all know the classes that would classify as “potential upset”. 1A, 5A and 6A. 2A, 3A, 4A wouldn’t be that despite who wins. 1A- Beechwood 5A- CovCath 6A- Trinity 2A, 3A, 4A? Game on.

First; one has to know what a “whole lot more” means. Scott County has a very efficient and potent passing attack despite not slinging it around the yard 40-60% of their snaps like most would think it takes to have an effective passing game.

Johnson Central will. Until then; these might be my two most favorite programs in the state. Unfortunately one had to lose. What Coach Thompson has transformed this Wayne County program into is nothing short of amazing. For so long they were a traditional .500 or below program, and a very rural county at that. They went through several years of .500 +/- even after he was hired. Flash forward to 2011 and the ball started rolling only to keep picking up steam. He and his staff IMO are maybe the most underrated in the state. With that said; congrats to Coach Matney and Johnson Central. After years of having to battle CovCath and Highlands, it’s great to see this mountain school winning like they are.

Huge win for Coach Haddix and his program. After the last two years and how they lost I was afraid it was going to happen again, but it didn’t. The ‘Hounds with the win in search of the #huntfor6 . You gotta love it.

Danville is 9-1 against Mayfield or something like that.

They are two lane, but good roads. They are winding, curves ones. Going 65 won’t be any better; once you get to Hodgenville (LaRue County) it’s a 2 Lane road for 30 miles into Campellsville. Go 75 to Lex; to the BG pkwy then to Springfield, Lebanon and Campbellsville.

It's not near big enough seating to hold the crowd that they will have tonight. The visitor side is small & their home side doesn't seat as many as you think. They allow people to bring their own chairs and sit around the track. There is a hillside to the right as you walk into the stadium where many people will watch the game from, both E-town and visitors. It's a first class facility and they were able to build something that many districts never will be able to put together, but the only knock I have and others will tell you the same thing- even E-town folks, but the seating could be better.

Which way will you all be coming from? I'm guessing down 75 to Lex; hop on the BG Parkway for a bit then getting off on HWY 55 which will take you into Springfield, Lebanon and then on into Campbellsville. If so; that side of town just has a lot of fast food restaurants and this country cooking buffet style place called "Creekside" (which is very good I might add). Sport of Kings mentioned some places that are solid, but those are somewhat on the other end of town (pass the school and head back north) except for Brother's BBQ. I'd maybe suggest stopping in Lebanon (Marion County; home of Maker's Mark) & they have some really cool spots downtown which you will have to go through as is if coming from that way (Chaser's, Blue's on Tap, County Seat, Hennings, Los Mariachi's, etc).

And a USC signee in Lamar Dawson who also happened to be Mr. Football that year along with Navy signee Zach Hester and 25 or so seniors on a roster of almost 90 total kids. Not exactly the "Little Engine That Could" :lol2:

Coach Ryan Emmick announced his resignation as the Bears head man after 8 years tonight at the conclusion of their banquet per @ButlerCosports on Twitter. They fell on hard times this year going 0-10, but he did an amazing job there & one that will be very hard to duplicate, let alone top. In his time there he finished with a 47-43 overall record. His only losing seasons were his first year (2010 2-9) and this year 0-10. In between those years he was able to win 3 playoff games in a 8-4 2016, 9-3 2015 and another 8-4 in 2011. The Bears 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons finished either 7-4 (2014 & 2013) or 6-5 (2012). These will be some tough shoes to fill. Good luck to Coach Emmick in his future endeavors & the Bears moving forward.

LeFors at CAL doesn't teach in the school I don't believe? I could be dead wrong, but I thought he owned his own business- maybe in the sports performance end of things? Again I could be way off in outer space.

Back in the day that used to be the way to promote your program; nowadays I'm not so sure how much it matters. It matters, but how much is unknown. The best job a coach can have in the district is Homebound IMO; 1) Little do people know it's a much needed position in the district (and, some have two) and 2) Administrators talk about being visible, well that makes you more visible than any position out there being able to come into every single school (having to meet with teachers across all grades).

It's a very unique stadium and atmosphere. There is only one side of bleachers as you know (that won't be any change for those coming from Beechwood), but playing in the outfield of the baseball diamond on what usually is a very nice surface. Their pressbox is massive. Their baseball stadium bleachers are very good also; I'd say those might even get some use this Friday? Raised up off the ground on a hill; concrete. You'd be a little ways from the field, but they'd be a prime spot to watch the game. I can't say this enough to people wondering about stadium layouts, but Google Earth is your friend.
