"The box" is totally different than "at the line of scrimmage". The box is the area at the LOS & those 3-5 yards+. The line of scrimmage, is, well.... Examples: A base 4-4 vs a standard 2 back-pro look would be considered 8 in the box. A Gap 8 look vs. A double tight, full house backfield with all 8 available gaps covered up is "at the line of scrimmage". Maybe you should.

So, you are telling me that Danville played the old "Gap 8" defense? No. It might have looked like they played with 8 guys at the LOS because of their speed, read and reaction ability, but they did not line up with 8 defenders at the LOS. Not vs Corbin's offense.

The best crews are the ones you don't know are out there. Make it safer. The kid who peels back 20+ yards away from the play on a defenseless player, flag him every time or toss them; from my experiences, those were usually the same kids who liked looking the part of an all-star against scout team freshmen in practice. Blind siding somebody completely has to go away, it should have a long time ago. Keep the game under control, but don't control the game. I addressed this in another thread, but the amount of nit picky stuff is getting bothersome. Holding penalties are getting out of control.

Yes he is and Scott County always has a very effective passing game under McKee. They aren't letting it fly over the yard, but their efficiency when they pull the trigger speaks for itself. In the 13 and 14 seasons alone, they have thrown for 40 touchdown passes and only 4 INT's. Sometimes you just play people better than you, and when that somebody happens to be one of the best in the entire country; you get beat. Props to Scott County for scheduling this game.

Holding is way overblown at the high school level. If most high school referees happened to ref college games; they would never end because of all of the flags being thrown. Yep. It always has and always will. You can't coach size and mobility.

An opening season loss to an in state school (same area at that) and some from the empire are losing their minds. This is comedy.

GoHard explained them. In a nutshell, though, they are private schools w/out tuition. They don't have to educate you. If you can't get with the program, hasta la vista. Feel free to go to one of your "home" schools in your designated "Pod".

Which, as I'm sure you can attest to is usually the case. Most good coaches are the same in the classroom and then some. Problem is, burnout happens quick with most who are expected to have the best classroom as well as trying to have the best product on the court and field.

If I had to guess, the line of those wanting to move to Jackson County is usually pretty short.

My vote goes to Ashland. The program, the region and the town? That's a no brainer for me.

It is, and it probably always will be. Just like I mentioned in my above post-------it's just not that important to most people. The speed, the athleticism, the strength, etc. is nowhere near what the boys game has. My face would have gotten red as well. It's important. It's just not as important as the boys to most. This is for a totally different thread, but I think girls fast pitch softball is every bit as exciting as baseball to most people. Let's just look at what makes basketball exciting to most of us. It's the speed of the game. Their strength. Some dunks here and there depending on which parts of the state you are in. It's the passing (and, the strength to be able to make some of the wow type passes). It won't ever be on the same level as the boys game. It's like comparing soccer to football in our country when it gets down to it. It doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve the utmost respect, but to expect that it's going to be as exciting across the masses is a bit far fetched.

It's still girls basketball in a lot of peoples eyes and that's all you can really say. It's the mens NCAA tourney compared to the women. No difference. I agree about the big time boys talent. People are in complete denial if they think this is a basketball state in terms in talent. It's a basketball state in terms of the love it has, but not in talent.

As a girls basketball fan--I don't feel bad about saying this or any other truths, be them positive or negative, about this game or others---but, outside of parents of our girls across the state and our own school fan bases, there aren't many who have much knowledge of the girls game. They don't have the knowledge because they don't have the interest.

I don't know how upset I would get over him not getting her name right. He's an 80 year old man. I don't know about any of you all, but my grandfather is around that age and he will get a few of us grandson's names mixed up when talking to us all of the time. Congrats to Maci. She is one heck of a high school basketball player & I expect her to be the same wearing that same shade of blue in college.
