This matchup has been talked about virtually all season and now we are here.

Boyle County (12-1) advances to the State Semifinals for the first time since 2010 after dominating Lexington Catholic (7-6) by a score of 57-15. The running clock started midway through the 2nd Quarter in what most thought would be a close game.

Elizabethtown (12-1) finds themselves in familiar territory as they advance to the State Semifinals for the 3rd straight year. Last week, Elizabethtown absolutely throttled Caldwell County (10-3) by a score of 52-6. Much like Boyle County, Elizabethtown had the running clock going midway through the 2nd Quarter.

Boyle County's starters hasn't played a full game the whole playoffs. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad, but either way I don't see Boyle losing. Chuck Smith got his team locked in. Boyle by 3tds

The only common opponent I see is North Hardin. Both teams won their matchup against North Hardin very convincingly. Elizabethtown won 50-14. Boyle County won 56-10.

Boyle County is averaging 48.5 points per game this season while giving up 13 points per game.

Elizabethtown is averaging 43 points per game this season while giving up 9 points per game.

Boyle County's only loss came at the hands of Danville (10-7) while Elizabethtown's only loss was against Christian Academy of Louisville (24-9).

After seeing the schedules I do feel like Boyle County is the more battle tested team. However, this is the best team each other will have faced all season since their respective losses.

I'm reserving my score prediction for now but I do believe that Boyle County will win. Good luck to both teams!

E-Town can be pushed around. Hint: watch first 2.5 quarters of Larue County game.

I think that Boyle County wins by 10-14.

I think it's safe to say 3A football will be fun the remainder of the year.

KHSAA shows kickoff at 7:30pm will that be central time?

Big Boy Football is about to get underway in Class 3A.

Should be a dandy.

And Boyle has a kicking game. Like E-town; after a score they are making people start on their own 20 yard line.

This is the best game of the week IMO.

E-Town is in the Eastern time zone

This game may feel close watching it, but when the final score is posted it won't be. Think something like Boyle 42-14 pulling away late.

E'town has gotten a lot of return TDs on ST, so that takes a big weapon away from them.

I think of Etown is able to stay in the game it will depend on their ability to throw the ball. They have had success throwing at times this year. I think rushing yards will be tough to come by on Friday. Another key will be which team can control the line of scrimmage. Both head coaches have played in this game many times in their careers. It should be a great high school atmosphere and I expect a good game.

Both of these teams have Jimmies and Joes. The JJ's in the trenches will decide this game as it does in any other big boy game.

Looks like Boyle is the favorite as I would expect based upon rankings. However, I'm a little surprised with several posters picking the Rebels to run away with it, especially considering E-Town's hosting. Can any of those folks provide some stats and reasons why they feel Boyle wins by 2+ TDs?

Should be a great game!
