The question you have to ask yourself is, are those 3 better at their positions than any other kids on the team. Obviously they must be, if they get the nod most of the games. But a lot has to go into it, such as work ethic and you also have to look to the future. And rest assured it is not the Freshman or Sophomore's fault if a coach brings them up and starts them. And then there is the final factor, people complaining behind the scenes, let me tell you, that helps no one . So keep it real my peeps, don't blame the little guys, just keep shakin your head, and one day the method or the madness will come out.

My mistake on Cov Cath and 8th graders, but I do not see AJ Maher and Maile playing only freshman. If so then they would be one of the toughest freshman teams out there!!!
-
I think this years freshman class will be the best we have seen in a long time. It will be hard to track a lot of kids, because so many are playing JV and a few playing Varsity, but a few schools to watch for this are Cov Cath, Highlands, SK and Cooper just to name a few that I know had 8th graders playing freshman last year. With a lot of them moving up from that.

Class 6A: Trinity 48 Simon Kenton 0
Rook429 replied to Birdsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
I can still here Eric Deters crying on the radio about how good Trinity was and how they are college players. SK shouldn't have had to play them...... Hahahahahahahaha -
He did the best with what he had. Some may have played out of position ie. Aaron Floyd, but the kid tried to move to CovCath his senior year...... He is lucky to even be put back on the team. To punish Jeff for having morals....... No way. He worked with what he had, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. He would have done well getting input from his seniors, and being more flexible until "his" class of kids came in. But let's be honest, talent is not there any longer. You will have some shining points but if they don't move or find a way to transfer, you would be lucky. He is doing the best thing for himself and his wife. Sometimes this is what has to be done for others to realize where the program is.....

What is funny is you show this resume' and how long has SK been around. Now look at what Cooper has done in just 5 years or so...... Don't compare!!!!!

Go Bluebirds, this is the year!!!!!! Actually, every year, is the Bluebirds year. A wise man once said. And this quote was pounded in my head last night, somewhere. " To be the best, you have to beat the best" WHOOOOOOOOOO (NRF) or something like that. GO BIRDS -
Anywho......... Back to the game....... From what I have seen, the Jags had a very nice run, especially in the post season. Not a lot of teams can bounce back from the injuries like they did, and play to the level and intensity that they have.
-
Why would they elect to move to 6A? When they are a big force in 5?
-
The thing you have to look at here, is did this penalty cost them the game?.... No. Then you have to ask, did the player sitting the second half, cost them the game? No There will be all kinds of, what ifs, and could haves, but I would agree that he sits the remainder of the game. That is what coaches get paid for, to be that bridge between players and refs. Yes it was words this week, but what if next time it is a bump. Refs aren't always the best, or so it seems when you are not getting the calls, but they are a neutral force in every game. Actions have consequences, and as you seen, after the remarks, the ref did throw the $@&?!@& flag I know I joke around on here a lot, but to slam a coach for keeping his team classy..... No way Both teams played great and made great adjustments, good luck to Palaski next week, and to Cooper next year. Just a closing note...... The Kellar twins are beasts, I will have to watch more Cooper games next year. When I am not watching my Bluebirds!!!!

I don't think Conner has the depth. Franklin County will be too much for Conner.
-
This game is a toss up, but I just can't imagine Conner wins this game. Scott High School showed how it can be done.
-
Cooper is a little up and down against the 6A schools, but if they are that bad then what does that say for Scott, Cooper destroyed them. Grant County, Cooper destroyed them , and let us not forget Conner. Conner was lucky it was as close as it was, 10 out of 10 times Cooper would DESTROY them too. So if Cooperis that awful bad, then those 3 teams should just stay at home.

Glad you made it through the hood to watch this game. Let me guess your expert opinion comes from all your years playing? Let me guess, you were a DB! I too can make expert opinions after just one game too.

I thought Padgett was The QB for Conner. Ooooooo, this post is old....hahahaha -
Anyone else disappointed in Highlands....tradition?
Rook429 replied to Playtowin29's topic in KY Football (High School)
Times are a changing, what was once unheard of back when I played for Highlands, is tolerated now. You will always have the serious ones and the goof offs. But nowadays that is what you call balance, ying and yang... Oooooooooooooommmmm. But there has to be a common understanding. -
Be a good game to lock some Freshmen in, for both Dixie and Cooper. I am sure a lot of schools will be doing just that.

Looks like Scott had all the right answers for Conner tonight

Does Conner have what it takes to take down Scott?
Rook429 replied to Rook429's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think Conner will struggle, Scott has the size to overpower Conner. Like I said earlier, you shut the QB down and it is an easy win. -
