Top 5 Quarterbacks in Northern Kentucky Fall 2014

Featured Replies

Seeing as how there is a pretty big following on BGP, I am interested in hearing everyone's take on the top 5 QB's in NKY this coming fall. Not interested in hearing the same old blowhard blah blah blah. We all know that 3 QB's were co-players of the year last year, so there are big shoes to fill at those schools for sure. I really do not have a take at this time, but would be very interested in hearing what others have to say.

Care to elaborate on why you made these choices? Want to hear some facts about each kid and why they should be considered the best at the position.

Best returning QBs would be Fieger, Moore and Hoge.

Hoge .... Named him because of word of mouth. I have seen next to nothing of him at QB. But he is going to be the starting QB at Highlands and thus he will be one of the top 5 in N. Ky. Can you say program?

Moore ... Very good sophomore season then underachieved a little IMO as a junior. Very fast and good scrambler/runner at QB. Passing game has been inconsistent but he has talent and should be primed for a very good senior season.

Fieger ... Total package. Pass first but has the ability to run if that is what the D gives him. Very smart and good at reading defense. I would say he is already the best passing QB at Beechwood in the past 15+ years, and he is just a junior.

Wagner ... Appeared headed to being one of the top 5 QB's in N. Ky. last year before getting injured. He apparently will be the starter at QB for Cov Cath and that by itself (like at Highlands) pretty much means he is good enough to be top 5 in N. Ky.

Dressman ... Started out rough at QB when called on due to injury. Grew into the position. A Brady Hightchew type of situation where a great athlete who could run the ball well was pushed into the QB role and then got it done. He was looking strong at QB by the end of the season. With Wagner back, Coach Wirth will likely put his athletic ability to use at other spots besides QB.

Well done sir, that is exactly the type of information that I am looking for. Would also like to hear about other teams QB's and how they might stack up.

I too am interested in hearing about any others. There is a lot of turnover this year on the N. Ky. QB front. There aren't very many experienced QB's returning.

Where would Molitor (Lloyd) fit into the mix?

Hoge is going to end up being the top QB Not just for his ARM but mainly for his feet. I expect him to Tote the pigskin a ton and be given a lot of control to use his Football smarts.

Moore is an outstanding QB and great athlete. He will have a Great Sr yr as well.

I think Dressman will Get the keys and be very good.

Feiger has a ton of experience and a Great supporting cast.

The Qb from Conner, Jeff Martin. He could possibly make that list. He's a great athlete, he can run the ball and has a good arm. He had 2 good years at the JV level following Drew Barker. I think he will have a good year too. Often overlooked but don't count him out yet.

I believe who ever starts for SK at QB will be in the mix for top 5.

Fieger for BW

Hoge for Higlands

The next group will fight it out for the 3-5 slots

Moore I would have listed as top 2 if not for last year. I am a big fan of his but thought he took steps

Backwards last year and needs to improve. I know BigC11 has been touting Jeff Martin for Conner but I haven't seen anything yet to put him top 5 yet. Hope he has a great season but being unbiased I have to wait and see with him

Especially hearing he may not be behind center.

Feiger has improved the most over the past 2 years and is still

So young. He has the arm strength and the smarts and footwork to make something out of nothing. Hoge is the mystery. I've heard nothing but great things about him and he does come from the stable of QB's that is Highlands.

Should be interesting this year with so many new QB's. If anything last season showed is you can never discount a new QB. Coopers Ludwig outperformed many of the top QBs when he went head to head against him and was clearly the best QB on the West team in the NKY all star game which just goes to show you can't ignore the first time signal callers at all.

Dixie ran 1st and 2nd last season. Moore played well. Let's see what coach B does with 2 D1 players and maybe 3 on roster...
