  1. Other than that, I really like the app and use it more than I do the website.
  2. The Cubs and Joe Maddon have agreed to part ways. It's probably the best for both sides. I always felt like the Epstein/Maddon marriage was like Billy Beane and Art Howe. Epstein put together a team the way he saw fit to win and Maddon would tinker, especially in the bullpen. Managing a bullpen is not a strong suit of Maddon's, and it almost cost them the World Series in 2016. Four pitching coaches in four years seems to back that up. I'm good with the move. I think Joe heads back to the AL, most likely the Angels where he cut his big league teeth. I would like to see the Cubs go after Joe Girardi. He's a proven winner who knows how Chicago sports works. He is also not one to shine the spotlight on himself the way Maddon was prone to do. Mark Loretta and David Ross have been mentioned as possible replacements. Cubs history has shown their biggest success has come with an experienced manager. We'll see. The biggest issue is the farm system. The Cubs mortgaged their future for the World Series title. I'm good with that. Most Cubs fans are good with that. But their lack of home-grown pitching is glaring. And Lester and Hamels are getting old. At the end of the day, I'm good with the move. The average life span of coaching success in baseball is 8-10 years. In some places like New York, Boston, and Chicago, it's 4-5 years.
  3. I had some issues entering my lineup on the app. It was telling me that I had three players listed for the tiebreaker but the app was only showing one and did not give me the option of deselecting anybody as my back up. I was able to logon to the regular site and submit a lineup with one back up player. I don’t know if anyone else was having this issue or not.
  4. Fort Campbell should beat Ballard Memorial in a couple of weeks to earn a return trip to Mayfield in the first round of the playoffs. Jayden Stinson was 9-10 passing for 251 yards and 3 TDs for Mayfield. They outgained Fort Campbell 400-92. This used to be one of the marquee series in the late 1970s and early 1980s when the winner would be the team to make the playoffs. Some very, very good teams at Mayfield and Fort Campbell sat at home in November because the other won the regular season game. I'm not sure what the problem is at Fort Campbell. It's hard to imagine a program that won three state titles in three years goes a decade later and is lucky to win three games. Yes, they have kids move away every year but they seemed to keep their nucleus intact from 2006-11. One issue is the dumb government rule that says kids cannot attend a DODea school (Fort Campbell or Fort Knox) once their enlisted parent retires from the Army. They then lose those kids, usually of high school age, to the Clarksville, Tenn. schools right outside their door. They can live on post but their kids can't go to FCHS. They have lost some good kids in all sports due to this.
  5. Hightower had 44 carries for 307 yards and a score. Tyler Ezell threw for 295 yards and three TDs, including the game-winning hail mary Second district walk-off win for Logan in three years. They beat Hoptown on a QB keeper two years ago.
  6. Todd is improved but not on the level of OCath. They have struggled to stop the pass all season. Hartz is the real deal. These teams will play again in the second round of the playoffs at Steele Stadium.
  7. Ford had 313 yards on 13 carries. Freeman had 4 catches for 159 yards. Trigg have up 398 rushing yards to Tilghman (14.7 yards per carry) They gave up 313 rushing yards to Murray (10 yards per carry) Trigg has some defensive issues to fix. They did lose their leading tacker from last year to an ACL in the preseason. Their third leading tackler from last year is playing soccer this year. Their second leading tacker this year is out 2-5 weeks with a knee. They lost their best DB in the first half to Tilghman. Their defense has played bad for two weeks but they also aren't playing with a full deck
  8. I started reading this thread and had honestly forgot that Marvin Lewis wasn't coaching them anymore. Of course, you couldn't tell by the thread's content.
  9. That's because you always had me scheduled in the first two games. LOL.
  10. I think the War Hogs beat the SubVets for the first time since 2009 yesterday. Rare win.
  11. Set a franchise record for points scored and still lose. Sounds about right for my franchise.
  12. At what point in the week or day does Fort Knox cut checks for officials for home games? Wouldn't that person at the school contact the AD and say 'we need officials names to cut checks for Friday.' Word has it Fort Knox will reimburse travel costs as they should. Teams warmed up. Anthem was played. Everyone thought the refs were on site I guess. It's the second time in three years Todd County has had a bizarre game. In 2017, they were leading Fulton City big at halftime, and Fulton City said they were not going to play the second half and left. You have to be careful trying to schedule wins outside your area. Things like this can happen when you don't know the coach or AD of the school you are playing.
  13. Zebra Cakes and Pecan Rolls appear to be the UCF of the rankings. They are a little low
  14. It's a tough day, regardless of your job, when you wake up one day and realize you may never be able to do it without medication. The medication works for a while but sometimes causes other complications such as weight gain or constipation. If that medication doesn't work, there's always an injection. The memory of being pain free, when you could run without pain or just put on pads or tie your show without help. The shame of telling an assistant coach or trainer you can't do that drill because your body isn't cooperating. More meds. Being questioned in public by a society who doesn't understand or fully know what it's like to try and limp through a day in your shoes. And now a different injury. More meds. More injections. Surgeries. More questions about the ability to do your job. Being told by your doctor you are good to go but your body has other ideas. If I'm good to go, why am I still in pain? More rehab. Let's switch treatments. Never getting a straight answer of what's wrong and why there is still pain. Yeah, I can see where it would wear a person down mentally. When it's your time, it's your time whether it's March or two weeks before the regular season. The fact people don't respect his decision for selfish reasons is one of the things wrong with our society today.
  15. I think the veterans committee will put him in at some point. They put Harold Baines and Lee Smith in this year and they were really good players at best. It's not the Hall of Really Good though. I've always thought Ozzie Smith being the Hall of Fame was a joke. Flashy plays but five times was in the top five for most errors. .262 career hitter, etc. If Luis Aparicio and Pee Wee Reese are in the HOF, I have no problem with Concepcion getting in. That's the one position on the HOF ballot where there has never been consistency based on stats. Reese got in based on rings and little else.
  16. Hopkinsville may struggle out of the gate until they get their running game on track. Todd County Central had them beat in a scrimmage until two late defensive scores by Hoptown pulled out the win. Trigg County has the pieces in place to take a run at Tilghman in the 3A district, but Tilghman is Tilghman. Christian County may be a good team but we may never know as they play one of the toughest schedules in the state.
  17. After the selection of Kelly Stafford's husband, it is winding around back to the top
  18. They should be a wild card team at worst in 2020. I'm not sure Bell is the answer as manager, but you never know when someone is going to fall in your lap. The Cubs were content with Renteria managing their young talent until Maddon came available. Would someone like Joe Girardi, Tony Pena, or Sandy Alomar Jr. be able to take them to the next level with their young talent?
  19. I came across an old Monster's Manual I had from back in the day. They are going for $200 on E-Bay now. My advanced player's handbook is going for $25. I still have my 8-sided and 20-sided dice. I used them in a baseball game I made from scratch using real Major League Baseball players because we were too poor to afford an Atari.
  20. Basically, let's change everything and introduce a computer instead of admitting six classes isn't working. Basic diversion ploy.
