So hard to rate baseball teams with how much a pitcher can dominate a game. It will be interesting to compare this listing to the year end poll.

Greenup's been mercy ruled in their only two games so far. Gotta question their inclusion in this poll.

Greenup County lost a lot of seniors from last season. Greenup is basically a whole new team.

St.X and PRP play on 3/28. PRP could vault to #1 or Tigers cement their position at the top.

Christian County returns everyone from a region title team and has two D-1 pitchers on their staff. But, hey. Rankings.

Where is Paducah Tilghman?

Where is Paducah Tilghman?

I was wondering that as well. I know early rankings are really tough, but I believe with all the college talent on the team, Tilghman will definitely be a tough out this year.

I am curious why Greenup remained, after losing 2 badly, but Beechwood dropped out after remaining undefeated. In addition, why so high on CovCath? I heard both Mcguiness and Coldiron did not return, 2 quality players lost. IMO, these rankings appear to be unsubstantiated and a farse with the exception of the typical power houses. The rankings appear to be an elementary attempt that doesn't deserve real conversation. Only the top 5 are really legitimate, the others are not yet debatable or even explainable.

Amazing all the things people hear that turn out not to be true.

Please elaborate, is Coldiron playing for CovCath? Do you know facts, please share if you know actual facts.

I ask because Coldiron left Midland late summer, so wouldn't be surprised if he didn't return. Please respond. @colonel-fan

Coldiron is playing. One last season with his high school pals. Looked good today against Van Buren (OH).

In fairness to the polls they were voted on before last Tuesday but just released on Friday. Think some teams who are traditionally good got benefit of the doubt on initial poll but now that coaches have some results to go on the polls should start to become a better reflection of true top 25. IMHO the poll will never be as accurate as it could be until more coaches participate in the voting process.

Its early, but I expect to see some 5th Region teams up here before the year is done. Have seen several of them play already and there is some good baseball being played. Central Hardin very good, Larue, Taylor, Campbellsville, Bardstown also tough.
