  1. Nice win Lady Camels! Did Male have their coach suspended for this scrimmage?
  2. Ryle had some games live streamed by tristatesportsradio but I don't believe they will be doing so this year. If in the Louisville area, Ryle will travel to Louisville Male in January. It was an OT game between the two last year.
  3. Agree. For the most part I think this is a solid assessment. For those that see it different; It's a poll..and it will fluctuate during the season.
  4. Raiders scrimmaged #15 Mercy Academy Jaguars, Coach Baisch. This was Ryle's first time on the court in competition under new coach Katie Haitz. Word is new look Raiders came out focused, fired up, and jumped to a 14 point lead within first 7 or 8 minutes. Nice opening act for this group..interesting to see where it will go from here.
  5. Agree with list that have Ryle Lady Raiders as preseason #3 behind Holmes and Highlands in the 9th. IMO one of these 3 teams will cut down the 9th region nets. Here's why the Raiders have a great chance: This team is loaded with talented senior leadership bringing 7 seniors to the table (including last years 5 starters) and talented underclassmen including 8th grader Maddie Scheer..definitely grown and improved. It's true the senior group is on their 3rd coach in four years but nothing but positive hints from union on new coaching staff and the direction they are headed. They can put the tallest front court in NKY on the floor and will have very solid guard play. Solid post play, solid guard play, solid outside shooting, and solid depth coming off the bench. They will have to take the court running a new system and execute so let's see where this group can be by March.
  6. 20 would have been a new state record. Per KHSAA web site, Ryle's Aimee Jump recorded 13 blocks in a single game..tying her with Highlands Heather Kruger (1996) for 9th Region most blocks in a single game: KHSAA Basketball Record Book - Girls
  7. Sorry but just from what is obvious in the 9th region, it's hard to put much credibility on this list. Must have been prepared based on last years results on someone that disconnected from NKY...because having Highlands at 19 and HC at 10 is simply not a realistic conversation.
  8. Campbell will have one of the best teams in the area and contend for their region...well coached...move the ball very well and can certainly shoot. As to the Ryle Campbell game last year...Campbell played the better game but Ryles post players didn't spend great deal of time in the post. Word is you can expect a different balanced attack from Ryle this year. But no doubt that Campbell will be in the hunt for a regional title.
  9. Agree on the tin of blocks..congrats Aimee! Go Lady Raiders!
  10. Congratulations to Ms Gulley on the scholarship!
  11. Agree with this..33rd will indeed be loaded but only two players in top 10. So with this in mind I'll throw out a couple of potentials to your question of who could take the last spot on top ten players list with Tubbs gone. Several worthy and it often depends on if you're viewing top scoring average or top player. Here's four worthy of considerations from the 33rd that other teams will be game planning around: Boone: Kaela Sanar Conner: Hunter Hendricks Ryle: Aimee Jump Ryle: Carly Lange
  12. Agree HHS prime for another great year. Preseason #2 IMO behind Holmes. They return bulk of a very good team and have excellent coaching. Inside threat/outside threat and an excellent senior point guard is a strong advantage. This team will work hard to take advantage of opponent's weakness and don't put them at the free throw line, they will win a lot of games from the stripe. The talented senior leadership will keep them at the top and in the hunt for a 9th region crown.
  13. Holy Cross will start the year with one of best point guards in the region in McClendon when it comes to moving the ball and dishing it. They certainly lost a lot to graduation so can't be at the top of the 9th this year. But they have some good young talent, good coaching, and perhaps the edge of returning players in possession of state championship rings. They'll compete.
  14. Lady Bulldogs start the season as the team to beat in the 9th. Loosing Tubbs may bring them closer to the pack but they return a lot of talent...fast talent. If you can't handle the ball and beat the press, it will be a long night for anyone facing them. I would expect another great year from this group.
  15. One week in Holmes and Ryle will be quite the interesting match up...@ Holmes on 12/9
  16. Interesting thread. If Coach Fooks had not retired, my 3 would have been easy. With her moving on I had to think about the 3rd spot. Several have pointed out this may not be just about wins. Sure wins matter. Which coach do you worry about maximizing his or her talent the most and making game adjustments to take away your teams strengths. 1) NCC Coach Stoll: Year in and year out 2) Highlands Coach Richey: Yes she has good talent..but not dominate talent. She gets them to play as one and has her team in the conversation every year. 3) Conner Coach Stamm but have to say Cooper Coach Levandusky and Beechwood Coach Houston came to mind. All get the most of the teams they have and I'd look for all three of these teams to make noise this year. Last year Conner lost their best player to injury and often were out matched. But they brought a good game plan and tough spirit to every game and that's coaching. (1 pt loss to Highlands, 9 pt loss to final four team Mason Co, 5 pt loss to NCC etc etc) No disrespect to other VERY GOOD coaches. Like player list, when you put a few at the top, it doesn't mean you think the others suck
  17. HC cut down the nets from 9th last year. Unbiased observers would tell you Holmes or Highlands could have easily been the team representing the 9th as well. Either of them would have made a deep run at state. No disrespect as there are some great teams across the state! But the 9th was strong last year and looks to be again this year.
  18. You are right ..I think it's incorrect to state only players from camp are on list. This appears to be the top 100 list (based on college potential). There's a separate list that is a camp report. Are you seen more if at exposure camp and increase odds of being listed...of course.
  19. Private school and my guess is student athletes who are middle school age or just now entering Freshman year. But just a guess.
