5th Region up for grabs?

Is the 5th region up for grabs this coming season? E-town still has Boley but does she have enough around her to win it for the 3rd straight year? If not, who does everyone think can dethrone them? Also, who are some 5th region players to be watching out for?

Not even up for discussion. If Etown doesn't win the 5th region it will be a bigger upset than their short state tournament run last season. Erin Boley is not just the best player in the state, she is one of the best players in the entire country. She still has a solid supporting cast. Even if you just surrounded her with an average supporting cast, they still run away with the 5th. Upsets happen but it is highly unlikely in this case.

It's a done deal in my mind.....but BballIQ just for discussion---who did you have in mind that could challenge them?

No particular team. Just curious of anybody thoughts. Nelson Co. would be the only one to probably give them a game in the region but who knows.

gotcha....i think it will be a struggle for anyone in the 5th to beat Etown....but i also thought it would be a struggle for anyone in the state last year and you see how that turned out. You never know---thats why they play the games!

If Boley is challenged in the paint, then she will move outside and shoot the 3,which she does very well. If the big comes out on here and tries to guard her out on the floor she will drive right by them. Very very few kids in Kentucky can stop Boley in the paint and those that can cannot come close to guarding her out on the floor. Boley is a Elite player in the USA not just Kentucky.

Warden was a starter last year and Stinson might as well have been for them. E'town is the clear favorite, and Mudd always has eager, talented players waiting in line for their chance on the varsity.
