We're still in our summer schedule. We can't start until the 24th. When we do start it's 5 days of helmet only to get accustomed to the heat.

Does Kentucky not allow contact during the summer. We hosted our own today with a couple of teams. We started with a one on one WR/DB challenge while the rest worked on an inside period, then the skill players did 7v7 while the lineman did a challenge on the boards, then we ended with 11 on 11 team drills. We are in shells when we do this and we stop on a thud although some players do go to the ground quite often. I love the contact because it gets them out of their 7v7 mindset and it lets us know who is going to be a ball player. I'd rather do several of these a summer instead of having spring practice.

I used to think they went on the side of caution until I had two players I was sure had concussions and they cleared them the next day.

It sure was. I wonder how things would have played out had they all stayed at their home school.

They were also considering a move being over 50 miles as ok. I wish they would have left that part in. Also, they only gave $2,500 for the PI. Can't get much done for that price. GHSA has been a joke when it comes to transfers. A certain power house wrestling team turned another one in with proof from a PI that the wrestler still lived in their district and they did nothing. It's getting worse in Ga by the year. Schools are setting up apartments for players families and paying for them among other things. One year, 8 out of 10 state champs in basketball had a major transfer in. The two teams who played for the state championship in 6a football both had numerous D1 players move in.

Georgia, we're compensated by the boosters for our summer work although it doesn't add that much it's still nice to get something.

In June we'll go TWT. Lift from 8-9:15, speed and agility until 10:15, and practice until 11:30. Mix in a few 7v7 tournaments, a two day contact camp, and a 3 day FCA contact camp right before the July 4th break. We'll go to 5 days a week after the break. I'd like to get rid of the 7v7 tournaments and just do the contact camps, but I'm a DL guy.

I wish we had the money to go up there and play Trinity. That first half is going to be pretty tough for them.

It's hard to keep people around for that price. Most don't do it for the money but you can't underpay them and expect them to keep coming back.

Dang, I'd hate to see what the assistants make.

Pretty sure me wearing jeans doesn't affect my performance or the schools performance. And me not having a morning duty doesn't affect the schools performance so....

It should sadden everyone that I wear jeans some days instead of khakis and I don't have a morning duty because I don't get home from practice until 10:00 at night and home from games until 1:00 in the morning depending on where we have to travel. Yeah, I can see why everyone should be saddened by this:rolleyes:

While I'm not a head football coach I am a head coach of other sports and I will say the admin at sports friendly schools are more lenient about some things than non coaches.

I always forget. Does Ky or Fayette County not allow booster clubs or bonus' to coaches? Some counties in Ga only allow a certain amount and some just say you have to report the size of the gift.

At North Cobb in Atlanta we treated it like our normal practice. All walk throughs. Start with special team, then defense, then end with O and our victory formation. We've had the whole week off from school so we've had morning workouts, film and practice after feeding them. Been going from 8-12 every day. We've kept our kids focused and we get the honor of facing nationally ranked Roswell tomorrow. We feel pretty good that if we just play to our ability and not try to play above our head that we'll take them down.

Just noticed that 8 of the 10 teams we played during the regular season made the playoffs. That's crazy to me.

Georgia has one district with 4 teams in it. The team that finishes 4th doesn't automatically make the playoffs. They use a system to determine which district gets a 5th team in. I don't see why Kentucky can't go that route.

Just by checking Knox Central's scores, is it safe to say they've given up more than 240 total yards?

We had McEachern beat. Just couldn't seal the deal. Roswell is the favorite but Grayson could win it.
