Thanks for the honest answer. My wife's family is from Boone and we used to play them when I was in high school so I have a soft spot for them.

Is this an average sized team for a high school in Kentucky? I don't see much height or weight on there.

Had the two that never played the game had previous football coaching experience?

We do not have much to do with the elementary school league. We host an Acworth League Night to recognize the little ones but we are very hands off sense over half of them are districted for other school. We are very hands on with our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams. They run the exact same offenses and defenses as us with the same calls. They play their games on our fields and use our locker rooms on game days. This works out great for us since the kids are already ingrained in our system by the time they get to us. I've found the high schools who are the most successful in Georgia do things this way. Some of them all the way down to pound ball.

I used to work the Nike Camps. I'd see a several thousand kids show up and only a handful would go on and play college football.

Sad to hear that. Trinity had some battles with his teams back in the day.

We're considering asking for a jar of peanut butter and a jar of jelly instead of money this year so that we can feed the kids sandwiches all summer long. Does anyone else do something like this and what do they ask for. Thanks in advance.

I like fast screens out of trips to the short side. Lots of times we out leverage people that way.

We teach them that they can only peak in the backfield if you can touch the WR. If not, and you peak then they will get more separation. Plus there is no face guarding in high school so it works pretty well for us.

We're around the tenth largest school in Georgia. We have those kids all over the place but we've had exactly one 6'5 280 lineman in my 10 years so we have to spread the ball around.

Well if they adjust out to cover the 2s it would be a 44 to me. And football is just a giant game of chess. If you move them out I'll just start running stretch and slants. But a lot depends on mine and their personnel. As far as going four verts, I have 6'1-6'5 kids that can fly out the wazoo. It wouldn't and hasn't been a problem for us.

I would just screen you too death and send 4 verts.

I like the wing-t because you can be successful with average players. And it's easy to install with a junior program.

We practice special teams the first 15 minutes, the middle 15, and the last 15.

I certainly do. Heck, I've had games where I'll run the same play 20+ times in a row until they adjust. And when they do adjust I'll go to the next wrinkle. Most people will adjust after the 2nd or 3rd time though.

Logan County went the middle school route. It looks like he's close to the community though so maybe he can get everyone on board and buy into what he's planning on doing.

Yeah, several of the high dollar coaches don't even teach. I think Rush is one of those guys but he may have one period of PE.

I played for Lampley. The guy is a legend for sure. He would never do anything like this. I've never even heard him cuss let alone do something like this. He would probably roll his eyes and call him an idiot if you talk to him about it. Lampley had a huge influence in my life. I wish I was more like him but you have to be your own self as a coach.
