Jenkins High School is now open.

Man...that's not going to be an easy one to fill this late in the year. 4 wins in the last 4 seasons at an eastern KY school

This, in my opinion, is the toughest job in Kentucky. I really hope they are able to find someone to instill a little success in the program but the kids and the athletes just aren't there. Their superintendent is a football guy so I feel like he'll do everything he can to boost the program, but it very difficult for them to succeed.

Bob Beatty line 1.

Job has been filled. Matt Chandler is the new head football coach at Jenkins.

Good luck to whoever takes this one.

You almost have to be someone with a love for the game and a love for helping develop kids because wins are always going to be VERY hard to come by.

To that I tip my hat to anyone who has coached at Jenkins or will coach there.

Where is Chandler coming from?

Where is Chandler coming from?

OC at Letcher Central, great guy, he's up for the Challenge.

Where is Chandler coming from?

Did he play at Whitesburg or am I thinking of someone else? Quite a few Chandlers down that way.

Off topic. Does anyone remember who the team was that Jenkins played, on a Saturday afternoon, when there was a large carnival going on in town?. Thanks.

I believe they were from Virginia and it was the same day as the Pike County bowl was going on. It would have been back in the early 2000's.

Looking at the KHSAA scoreboard, looks like it would have likely been Haysi, VA. Saturday August 23, 2003. Haysi won 48-14.

Yes, that is the game.

I should have went to the K.H.S.A.A. page and looked myself.
