Panda, do you think the casual Covcath fans will turn out for this game? Ive seen years where they come in mass expecting a win and they leave disappointed shortly after half time. I've seen years where they know they're going to give up 60-70pts and they don't bring a crowd. After the first game, at home, against a Highlands team that was struggling at the time, they still lost. Highlands is playing much better now. If I'm a fair weather Covcath fan, convince me why I should think this time will be any different. What's the definition of insanity?

As I stated in the prediction thread, I wanted to see Boyle win this game, but their easy schedule would catch up with them. Central doesn't mind going 5-5 or 4-6 playing all comers, anywhere, anytime. Their focus is the post season. Football in Ky is better when Boyle is really good. If Boyle ever wants to return to power status, they need to call some traditional powers like they used to. Play tough games and get better. Give a call out to Highlands, Trinity, St X, Bowling Green, and some of the other big schools that are better than anything you'll see in the post season. Heck, call Scott Co and some big Lexington schools like Bryan Station. My opinion is they need to quit wasting Friday's playing half that schedule. I'll give a pass this year on Bell since that looks like a bowl game and they used to field a decent team every so often. But Bell isn't a game that's going to help you anymore either.

I believe Scott can stop the run. Can Johnson Center pass? The times I've seen Johnson against Highlands, their passing was woefully inept. I'm not certain they knew you were allowed to pass if it wasn't 3rd and long.

I see a few teams that would have 5-8 less if the Khsaa hadn't watered down the playoffs with the 6 class system.

When it comes to Math, I'm not Good Will Hunting. I like the graphic, but based on your numbers, you may want to re-add Murray and Pulsfort.

I thought Dixie had a few really good players. #30 could help any team in the state. I heard his name called all night. It was like he made every tackle, caught every pass, and kicked. Dixie's issue all season seemed to be too many guys playing on both sides of the ball.

Was it a great season for Ryle? What did they do that made it great? What was the highlight? They're putting the equipment away again and there's still almost a month left to play. Why should I believe this year was different from any other year at Ryle? It seems like more of the same to me. I understand Ryle did have a nice year on the golf links.

This was a convincing win. The line was dominant on both sides. The Qb played a great game. I now believe Ncc will beat Erlanger. Where would a Danville Ncc game be played?

They'll have a good record, but it all ends at Bank of Ky again. I also think they lose in the All A and don't even make it to Frankfort.

Central wins the game. Boyle schedule was weak. They lost to a mediocre Lexcath and didn't play anyone else. Central is always battle tested by the playoffs.

This kid is a player. Anyone who was at the Highlands-Covcath frosh game would agree that his future is bright. You have rarely seen this type of a talent at Covcath in recent years. Teams will have to gameplan for him.

Simon Kenton by 20. I was not impressed with Ryle. I do like the QB, but the play calling is a head scratcher. Also the battle of the 3rd and 4th most obnoxious fan bases in N. Ky.

Cooper by 18.

I call not game planning quit as well as normal to your personnel. I believe Coach W learned some things early in the year as good coaches do in losses. He then took more control and inserted a few different players on the D side. Highlands also changed some things on O.

Holy Cross has the better staff and is more talented this year. I think they win this game. Imo ncc program is headed down a steep cliff. I haven't seen as many Ncc games as normal this year though. Others who have seen the upcoming players may feel different, but that's what I foresee happening.

Please refresh me on what year Highlands ever had trouble stopping Johnson Central? Would that have been the year Highlands beat JC 69-20 and Johnson put up a couple late scores against freshmen? I do know Johnson Central has never beat Highlands, and I can't recall Highlands ever having trouble figuring out how to stop Johnson Central's offense. I do think Johnson Central is a formidable opponent, but it's never that hard to stop one dimensional teams. I also commend JC for trying to ramp up their schedule this year even though it was only with one quality game against Lexcath. It's tough to get home and home series with good teams that are long bus rides away. I'd like to see Johnson win state this year. They have been the 2nd best team in Highlands division and would've won state a couple times if they hadn't have had to go thru Highlands.

Thanks to nkysports, I was able to watch this game without leaving the family room. Its hard to say either team was better. I felt like Lloyd did have an easier time moving the football, but both teams left me scratching my head. If Lloyd doesn't win the playoff game this year, don't hang your heads Juggs fans. After this year, it will be awhile before Ncc is a contender again.

They'd both beat Cooper and Ryle right now. Go back and watch the tape if you don't believe me. Highlands has a half dozen or maybe more kids in the defensive rotation who weren't on defense those games. The offense has gotten better, but did play a bit too conservative for my liking. I think one thing is safe to say. Cooper and Ryle will again put the pads away before Highlands as usual.

The mighty Colonels are averaging 17 pts a game. This might be a huge week for them to beat their average. I predict Covcath wins 19-17. The last Covcath score coming on an errant Grant County snap over the Qb's head for a safety and the final 2pt margin.

This game was painful to watch after the first quarter. The only thing lost this year though, is a few games and a little pride. The team is back to work on the off week and will hopefully show up ready to play in the district games and the playoffs.

Highlands had a nice run from 2007 thru 2014. 113-7 over that time. 2 losses in ky. 4 in Ohio. 1 to the Florida large school runner-up). A slow day at work lead me to look up these statistics. You can select any set of years to twist your data but it's still impressive. 2007 15-0 5A state champs 2008 14-1 5A state champs (loss to Colerain, OH) 2009 15-0 5A state champs 2010 14-1 5A state champs (loss to Ryle) 2011 15-0 4A state champs 2012 14-1 4A state champs (loss to Elder, OH) 2013 13-2 4A state runner-up(loss to Elder OH, Collins) 2014 13-2 4A state champs(loss to Elder OH, Christopher Columbus, FLA) 2015 to be determined. Its easy to see the reason Highlands fans are scratching their heads. If they would've gone the easy route and not scheduled Elder or any out of state teams, it would even be more remarkable in the record book.

Any of the Highlands teams of the past 8 years would be undefeated with this years schedule.

I still agree with guru's assessment of Lexcath's team after 4 weeks last season. Your defense was soft and gave up a ton of yards and points to Highlands in the playoff game. What he said about your team after 4 weeks came to fruition in the playoffs when you finally had to play a good team. Good observation Guru.

Just don't disappear from the schedule in the future and we'll see. Enjoy your victory this year. I am rooting for your team and hope you bring home a title some day.
