  1. I could be wrong, but this outcome was probably more of a statement to Holmes, than it was to Highlands. Son (Kevin) just happened to get caught in the line of fire intended for Dad (Mike).
  2. It is a shame that Coach Snapp will have limited time. But perhaps he has kids on the bench that will now become prominent participants who have bought in to the TEAM concept the entire season, and now have the opportunity to show that. I'm sure those players have lesser skill sets, but perhaps they display the qualities that allow "lesser" teams to succeed. We see it all the time .. "how did that team do it?". I'm rooting for Coach Snapp and his team .. I hope they surprise some people. Now wouldn't that be a great story.
  3. I believe 6'5" is more accurate than the advertised 6'7", based on standing next to him. Plays like 6'9", but probably closer to 6'5".
  4. It wasn't aimed at you specifically..my reply just happened to fall immediately after yours. Perhaps it's best to let the thread die than discuss the alleged/perceived behavioral issues of a 17-year-old, and the tit-for-tat "he called me a name first" between two adults. justsayin
  5. ....and another game thread goes wildly off topic ..... :(
  6. What did NC do differently than Brossart, in that their game wasn't "ugly and boring"? What was so "fun to watch" about the Breds game? They only scored 36. In reference to the shot clock, NC was the one who chose to take the air out of the ball in the third quarter (tho briefly). Just curious.
  7. What do you think? If it was a football game, 11 would have been ejected for spearing.
  8. This thread has officially jumped the shark, and is a discredit to those kids who played a fantastic basketball game. When we're no longer discussing the masterful play of Weyer, or the magical display of ball-handling by Schultz, it's time to move on.
  9. A shot clock would not have benefited this game one bit. If one were present, you would have seen bad shots, or constant shot clock violations. How is that more entertaining? I can't imagine few who were there being disappointed with the low score. It was a highly competitive, very exciting game. The outcome wasn't assured until the last 30 seconds of the game.
  10. Austin, Owens, or Jackson? Love 'em all, but am partial to Cindy.
  11. um...wow.... :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed: Any details why? Or where Mr Lorenz is headed?
  12. If my math is correct, Owen was 23/28 from inside the arc (82%). Solid.
  13. Two days later, and further proof that either A) @Can'tcoach can't read, or B) is effectively ignoring you!
  14. Hangnail?! Just kidding..hoping for a speedy recovery!
  15. If I understand it correctly, Macke was not a coach at Holy Cross LAST SUMMER, nor was her son a student at Holy Cross LAST SUMMER.
  16. Congrats to your team, coach. It's awesome you have a great group of kids who buy in to the system and believe in each other. Sometimes, it's just not enough, but they have no reason to hang their heads.
  17. I love how Holy Cross is recognized by the local coaches who see them regularly, and have to prepare for them. No disrespect to the Colonels, but number 1 in the state (Litkenhouse), and number 2 in N. Ky.
  18. SMH .... seriously, shaking my head at this post
  19. Hegyi is missing from the box score. Is he injured? A fine player
  20. Let me guess ... wait for it ... the Birds battled and played hard for all 32 minutes?
  21. I heard that as well. Never like to hear that. I hope whatever occurred can be rectified very soon. Youth is fleeting.
  22. Not sure what you're implying by "effort". As previously stated, FACTS Management Company (FACTS) is used as an objective evaluator and interpreter of financial need based on criteria applied to data submitted by the financial aid applicants. Nowhere on the application does it ask about athletic prowess.
  23. Of the private, Catholic schools I'm aware of, no student is ever turned away because of lack of money. Every effort is made to work with the parents to provide that opportunity. I'm sure it is not easy for a parent to say they need help, but thru resources like FACTS, efforts are made with great respect to the dignity of those asking for assistance. justsayin
