I generally believe Mack really enjoys his job, Xavier University, his life in Gr. Cincinnati, and is one of those guys who subscribes to the theory of "what can you buy for $3.5 million that you can't buy for $2 million?" Contentment, and being comfortable with who you are, doesn't contain a price tag. I admire that.

I just finished reading the attached book. Very easy read, and you don't have to read the entire book to get the gist: the amount of added sugar in foods (often with misleading names such as fructose, sucrose, dextrose, maltose, barley malt, corn syrup, rice syrup, etc) that the public believes is "healthy" is quite staggering. As with everything, the truth lies somewhere in the middle (between deceptive marketing techniques and personal responsibility). But it's very easy for the uneducated to inadvertently "harm" themselves, every time they ingest something. Your first response was terse, so in reply, I reciprocated. Since you've thoughtfully elaborated, I will as well. When I said "uncomfortable", I wasn't meaning a physical discomfort (tho sitting in a hard pew or kneeling on an uncomfortable kneeler may be a mental notation of the physical sacrifices Jesus made). What I meant was the Church has asked us to do things that most feel uncomfortable (or uneasy) doing .... working with the poor, feeding the hungry, visiting the imprisoned, tithing, fasting. Some people (not all) think that going to a mega church, drinking coffee and listening to rock music for an hour is sufficient. I'm not a preacher or theologian, or pretend to be. But as a follower of Christ, I'm asked to evangelize on his behalf. And sometimes that is uncomfortable. That's all.

That's funny! I tried that U-Scan feature once a few years ago, and thought it was a decent idea. Then I looked over at the checkout line, and saw all the teenagers (including some with disabilities) I was putting out of work, and never used it again.

The book cat references to is a must-read. Unequivocally, the most thorough account I've read. Enough to convince me what the true cause of the fire was. The part about Keith Holliday took my breath away. And Chesley is revealed to be the scum of the earth.

Prediction about Troyzan comes true. With the exception of finding/playing one idol, he basically stayed under the radar, DID NOTHING, and rode Brad to the end. Then got ZERO votes. I guess he got a free 39-day "vacation" in Fiji. In order to win the game, you have to actually play the game.

I'm still confused why Officer Sarah stole Tai's vote, then used two votes on Michaela. She had to know Tai would vote with Brad and Troyzan (for Michaela). She could have knocked Tai out, or if Tai used an idol (which I don't believe she knows about), Michaela still would have gone.

Not sure what the turnout would be in Louisville for this (potential) match, but I predict a bigger crowd in Cincinnati than what they drew for Crystal Palace. It could be epic.

$500 million sounds like a lot. Half a billion dollars sounds like a LOT more. When you put it in those terms, it is beyond ridiculous.
