That saddens me. I know it has been beaten to death on every HS forum, but kids "choosing" to concentrate on one sport at such a young age seems too much. Think of the friendships, camaraderie, and life-long memories he will miss out on. Who doesn't regale about stories when they were 15-16-17? Maybe I'm WAY off base, but I can't imagine Brady telling stories to his kids about the time during spring soccer practice that happened, versus the stories he could tell about baseball games played during his high school career.
I have tremendous respect for the Gesenhues family and the decision. I'm sure they have discussed this and feel it is best for Brady. That's what is most important. But I can't help but think to myself .. Brady is a very good soccer AND baseball player. Why can't kids just be kids and play sports to have fun?
