Murray Out, Bradshaw In At Campbell County
I think we could be looking at two different scenarios here. I believe the CCHS administration either forced him out because he wouldn't play who they wanted him to play or he resigned because he was not going to tolerate their dictatorship antics anymore. Either way no one wins except for the parent of the player that brought all of this on. The daughter of the parent doesn't win. She is probably ashamed about the situation and feels like an outcast by the rest of her teammates. I hope everything comes to light at some point and someone has the guts to say what actually happened. I hope someone gives up the name too. I have my sources but until its facts I will not say who it was.

Murray Out, Bradshaw In At Campbell County
I think there is more to this story than any of us know. If this is one player or a parent then this is a problem. I think someone said it best when they said that this is why Campbell County sports cannot excel consistently. They get good coaches and then allow a few people to run them off. Why do some parents have so much control over a school. Your money or your status within the community should not allow you to influence school decisions. To get the approval for one at the cost of so many is ridiculous.

Murray Out, Bradshaw In At Campbell County
Very shocked by this. Hope everything is ok with Coach Murray and his family. Good luck to Bradshaw, great coach! I thought Murray was one of the best coaches Campbell County has ever had for girls basketball. Good Luck to Coach Murray in his future endeavors.

4A Playoffs: Highlands / Covington Catholic (Predictions)
Didn't HHS lose 41-21 in the regular season in 1992 and then win 14-7 in the playoffs?

4A Playoffs: Ashland at Highlands Predicitons
I believe you are thinking about the Bell Co. Game on Thanksgiving in 1992. I seem to recall the cannon firing quite a few times at Putnam stadium during the Ashland game.

Highlands 1 Newport Central Catholic 0
Great game to watch. Very physical game with 5 yellow cards handed out, I believe. Not really chippy though but someone else may have a different opinion. Not a whole lot of shots on goal but the ones both teams had were exciting. NCC had a couple of good opportunities but put both shots over the post. Also had an excellent header that was going in the far corner and was cleared right before it crossed the goal line. Highlands had a couple of opportunities as well. Awesome effort on a bicycle kick by Noah Sellers. In the end its tied 0-0. About 2:00 mins into the 1st overtime Highlands pressures the goal and there is a total mess in the goal box and Highlands #14 comes away with a put back, that he almost walked in. Congrats to both teams on an excellent season and good luck to the Birds! Want to give a special shout out to sophomore Noah Sellers for an awesome District and Regional tournament. All District and All Regional team and wasn't even a regular varsity player in the beginning of the season

9th Boys Semis: Highlands 4, Dixie Heights 0; NCC 1, CovCath 0 (3-1 on PKs)
How about the play of Noah Sellers in this Regional Tourney! He is only a soph and is turning in one heck of a performance in the tourney. He scored in the first game of the tourney and then has two assist on crosses in the semi's. Highlands has a great young team coming up to varsity next season and he should be one of their top players. Congrats Noah! All-District Tourney Team....Check! All-Region Tourney Team...? Good luck on Saturday versus NCC.

Highlands / Covington Catholic JV Cancellation Take II
I missed the post where someone mentioned CCH being better than HHS. Please let me know where I can locate it.

Notre Dame 3 Newport Central Catholic 2
Her throw ins are unreal. Haven't seen to many players throw the ball in like her....boys or girls. Gives them a huge advantage, just as good as a corner kick. She is the enforcer on that team.

Girls High School Soccer Style vs College Style
I agree with the reasoning. Lower skill level against higher skill level can lead to frustration on the field along with the high competitiveness of girls sports today. This overly aggressive style is being taught at some of the area select clubs. I can tell you for a fact though that its not something that is supposed to be taught at KINGS/HAMMER or NKSA. Sure, they are taught to play aggressive but not to foul every chance they get. There is a difference in playing aggressive and being a hack. A lot of these girls playing today are more of hack style. I have never seen so many girls getting rolled over after releasing the ball than I have seen this year. Basically just a cheap shot after the ball has been played. The refs need to get control more. They should be able to tell the difference in good physical play and cheap dirty play. If they foul warrants a Yellow or Red Card then give it. No one wants their daughter to have their soccer career cut short because of a cheap play. By the way Sweeperboy, how is her season going? I saw her play in high school and watched a few of her games for Kings when playing for Coach Hughes and thought she was a very good player.

Any updates on the score from the girls game?

Notre Dame 3 Highlands 0 (Girls)
Really good crowd for this game on both sides. The freshman crowd for Notre Dame were really into the game (it was their initiation night). This game was played well by both teams in the first half. Notre Dame wore down Highlands in the second half and showed why they are the best team in NKY. Their passing and spacing are so good you just run yourself to death chasing the ball. One of the most impressive things about their team is that they win almost every 50/50 ball and they are very aggressive. Its great to see that out of a team. Highlands is an aggressive team but didn't win the 50/50 balls which probably lead to a couple of the goals. Highlands freshman and JV both looked really good against Notre Dame. Hopefully this match up is more competitive over the next several years.

Watch out for the Camels
The key is their midfield. Their midfield was young last year and not very good. Oliver Rice has a year of high level club play (Kings Hammer Academy) under his belt and looks way more comfortable in the CAM role. Schneider looks good in the central mid position as well. They will be required to feed the ball with accuracy to Szovatti up top and Dumaine on the outside. Kramer looks to be a decent surprise on the outside mid as well.

Watch out for the Camels
Couldn't agree more. They play hard and pass well. They space and keep there shape on offense and defense. Should be an interesting season. Good luck to the Camels!

Nate McGovney Makes College Choice!
Campbell County Senior Nate McGovney has chosen to play basketball at Thomas Moore next season. He has been looking at the school over the last few weeks and has decided it would be a good fit for him for his college career. I am sure Nate will be a great addition to the team and it will be nice to watch him play nearby. Good luck Nate!

Most Under-rated players in NKY (All Grade Levels)
From Campbell County I would have to say Cory Holbrook and Trent McGovney. Holbrook really came into his own this season but still seemed underrated. McGovney is going to be starting PG next season and everyone should take notice on this kid because he is a leader on and off the court.

10th Region 2013-2014
How does this have anything to do with talk about next years 10th Region Basketball season? Flat out...it doesn't. As a fan of one team in the 10th Region, it is not my responsibility to make little Timmy from School A feel good about himself when I am a fan of School B. I will respect the kid and his game on the court but I don't have to cheer him on or coddle him. I have the right as a fan to cheer for any player or team of my choosing. You don't have to like it and I am not asking you too. You are on your soap box demanding respect for all teams in the 10th. Who are you to tell me what kind of fan I should be? You may need to show some respect for other people who opinions vary from yours. Chill on the "backed in a corner" bit. No one is attacking you, just defending our opinions on the post old timer.

10th Region 2013-2014
That's funny...The season is actually over for most teams in the state. Only those at Rupp that are still alive and congrats to those teams. For the teams who's season is over, it should be time to talk about next year. You just don't take months of basketball off because your season is over. It takes work all year long to compete in the 10th Region and the state. It seems to me your just on here to give afi100guy a hard time. Did you seriously create an account just to come on here and leave comments like that? You are wasting your time trying to dis long time posters on this site. You are fighting a loosing battle. This topic shows no disrespect for the game or the region. Get off you soap box.

Holmes vs. Pleasure Ridge Park updates
Seems like this game is starting to get a little chippy.

10th Region semi's
I think Montgomery County just has too much for Brossart but wouldn't be surprised at a Brossart upset. I think Robinson leads Campbell past Nicholas even with their home court advantage. Sig of Campbell has to step up though. Finals Montgomery vs Campbell.

Kings and Hammer Merge
To be honest with you the tables have turned as far as club soccer goes between Kings and Hammer. Hammer still has great talent and excellent trainers but Kings seems to have better teams in the last couple of years. Hammer I know has less players in the club over the last few years. Looking to combine two great small clubs to compete with Cincy United.
