Not surprised with the coach of the year but a little surprised at the player of the year. Prewitt would have been my choice with McGovney close behind and then Stenzel. Congrats to them both though.

I am going to give credit to Brossart's players and the coaching staff for having an excellent game plan in the first half for Nate. They held him in check and kept him from getting as many touches. The Mason County game w/ Black is still a what if? 1. Prewitt 2. McGovney 3. Black (may be 1 or 2 but has only played part of the season due to injury) 4. Monroe 5. Stenzel 6. Fatkin or Caleb Ford

Nice list of players there but he is ahead of at least 3 of them. Sounds like you are calling him lazy??? Unless you know Coach Russell's offensive plays or scheme then I don't think you can say that he just stands around. He is by far the most "clutch" player on that list.

How do you know where the people making comments about the Block/Foul where seated. I was right next the the Mustangs cheerleaders and saw the block. The block was clean, maybe some body contact but flagrant? C'mon. This talk about the foul/block is just out of hand. Campbell County has been on the short end of the stick on fouls all season long, so one game they have the foul advantage and it is the reason Brossart lost the game?

Dear lord he was not hammered. I Cannot believe the rest of this thread is going to be about a so called foul that wasn't called and not about the great game that was played. Both teams left it on the court and the refs let them play. Congrats to the Mustangs on a great season and good luck to the Camels in the final.

Really? Hammered is a pretty strong statement. There may have been some contact but no different than what went on all game. We will never know if that call would have changed the game or not.

Campbell County Junior Nate McGovney scored his 1000th career point tonight. McGovney scored his 1000th on his second basket of the game and the game was stopped to honor his accomplishment. He was a little surprised that he had 1000 points because it was kept a secret and he thought he needed about 30 more. This is a great accomplishment for any player but especially for a Junior. He finished the game with 28pts and 10 rebounds along with a few assist and steals. I want to say how proud I am of Nate. Not only is he a great player but also a great young man. I have never met a young man who handles himself so well on and off the court. He always has a great attitude and always gives his best on the court and in the classroom. I have known Nate for several years and I have watched him become one of the best high school basketball players I have ever seen. Nate, congratulations on a great career so far and we wish you the best of luck the rest of the season and next. I am glad I get to go and watch you play every home and cannot wait to see you play in college.

I will go with 1. Prewitt 2. McGovney 3. Stenzel 4. Monroe 5-10 is a toss up. I think Prewitt and McGovney are close. McGovney is averaging 23pts a game and about 5 boards. He also seems to have that clutch factor. Great free throw shooter as well. Monroe is great but I might question his consistency in scoring.

Why Campbell County FB? I thought Mr. Rose was the PA announcer for football there.
