What about Snapp of Newport? I really like his game and he looks to have a lot of potential? I know they will not be able to win the 9th but he is a very sweet player.

This score is a shocker! I was hoping to get to see this game to check out Bach and Trentman, but the day got away from me. Sounds like 2 of the best from the 10th squared off and the battle and the war was won by Trentman. Not much noise about Brossart but they are 16-1? Just goes to show you how talented a lot of teams are this year.

Kids can't decide what they want for dinner much less picking out their future as an 8th grader. Junior or Senior season is OK by me.

Great job. I think Cov Cath has earned the 1 spot by beating Holmes by 10 and having a 5 point margin at half vs. NCC. They are still undefeated versus NCC's 3 losses. Have to be able to make the call, none of this 1A 1B stuff .:lol2:

I missed the margin of victory but figured the defense of Brossart would create issues for the Camels. 41 points ouch! Holbrook was held in check, key point of the game. For the Camels to win, the offense needs to go through him. Wilson has matured and has a nice game. Thought Trentman played one heck of a game, Campbell County did a great job of shutting him down offensively, but he was a pure beast on the boards. The role players did do a great job for Brossart and Burns is hard to handle. The big men for Brossart had 28 rebounds! Love the Jennings kid running point for them as well. I do agree Campbell County did force a lot of shots and became selfish. Maybe part of the chemistry issue I mentioned? Fun time watching this one. Great crowd. Good luck to both teams!

I think the MVP award singled out one player? I still think naming 16 to an all tournament team is a bit much. If they want to hand out that much hardware, just do a player of the game each game and than have an all tournament team.

After seeing this match up last year and seeing both teams this year, I think folks are overlooking the defense of Brossart. Last year the Jennings boy frustrated the daylights out of The Camels. While Jackson and Wilson are becoming very good players, Burns and Trentman are already very good players. The key to the game will be if Brossart can contain Holbrook. I think they will be able to do so. I'm also hearing some rumblings about some team chemistry issues with the Camels? I'll go with Brossart by 7.

Interesting that a complaint is made referencing the opponents fans after Augusta's first loss. I'm wondering if the lack of opposing student bodies at prior games, the large student section at this game or the intensity of this game had something to do with this comment being made at this time. It couldn't be the first time an opposing team has made a negative remark towards an Augusta team. Fine lines can be crossed by young students and I agree a faculty member should be near in case it gets out of hand. ACT scores? Big ears? Our football team is better than yours? maybe not so bad. I've heard worse. There is no use for foul language at games. They are family friendly places.

I have no issues with this poll or discussing who will win this game. I did have an issue with the one poll I saw that had the margin of victory as options. That being said. Holmes wins by 19. Guard play will be too much.

Impressive showing by Ballard beating one of NKY's better teams. This may temper some enthusiasm for what NKY has to offer this year. There is a lot of talent in NKY but I think the same goes for the rest of the state as shown last night.

This is one of my favorite Tourneys to watch. It is a great collection of what's to come in NKY hoops. Good to see young men develop over the years. Always fun to sit with a buddy and wager on who the POY will be in 3 more years.

Very tough when you limit to 26 and have to pick one from each of 20 teams. I'm sure Highlands had 11 kids better than a couple of the smaller schools.

This score is surprising! I just commented in a Holmes thread that Cov Cath may not match up well with Holmes but this was a big win for the Colonels.

Bolden is a one of a kind player. Best I have seen in a while. Created shots on offense and havoc on defense. Chames is a great leaper, how many of his points came on offensive put backs? I expected the game to be a little closer. Brossart bigs are a handful. I was amazed by Trentman. I've always been a big fan of his but he is so much better than he was last couple of years. The shot he made at the end of the half was unreal. He also had an offensive rebound where he came from nowhere and did a spin move to grab it and than hit the shot. Holmes did a great job defending him and "holding" him to 20. A big kid that sinks the 3's, runs the court, looked as fresh in the first minute as he did in minute 32. Big motor, complete player. He should be in the top 5 in NKY. Holmes is going to be a tough match up for NCC. Their bigs play bigger than they are and guard play is of course superb. I've not seen Cov Cath but would think they may not match up as well with Holmes? Good game, gym looks great. The fog and spot lights prior to game are a nice touch. Good luck to both teams. I plan on seeing them in action again this year.

About what I expected. Have I mentioned it will be a long season for the Indians? They are young and will be alright the next couple of years. I miss Campbell.

Holy Cross is worse than I thought they would be. They are young and small. Bezold was only kid with size and he is a little slow of foot at times. He did make a couple of nice moves. Seibert played very well for the Indians. At one time Schrand had 5 kids in there that may not have been as tall as SK's shortest man. HC was deadly from the line. Both teams came down and jacked up a bunch of 3's. Curiuos to see what shooting % was. I was hoping baseball nut would have posted stats? Neither team played ANY defense. There were several coast to coast layups. Simon Kenton has a nice team. Good size and can shoot. They are very deep as well. SK was victim to a lot of what used to be known as cheap fouls. Now I would say they fell victim to the new reffing standard. If you are out of position and your man is blowing by you, you end up reaching for them and get whistled up. Robinson, Morrison, Mullins all looked good. I was also very impressed with Kuntz. Pretty impressive for only being in the gym for a week.

I think Boone is better than Simon Kenton so it will be ugly.

It's going to be a long year for Holy Cross in a loaded region.
