Way too much Shawn Johnson in this one. Looked like he was on a pogo stick. Couple that with steady point guard play against a team with a limited rotation and you see the result.

Rumor is that Sherriff Patrick Boggs will be serving Shawn Johnson with property tax papers in the morning...the kid absolutely owned the paint tonight! I was wrong...never thought it would be close to a 20-point game.

Dominating performance by the Royals from start to finish. Mason County just had too much size, too much depth, and too much athleticism for Augusta.

I think this comes off a little harsh and maybe arrogant as well. I looked at Augusta's schedule and it's not bad at all. They've got a really nice team and deserve to have the start they've had. Losing one of their best players to injury didn't help them tonight, but beware come district/regional time.

When you're a school the size of Augusta, with as few students as they have, every team on your schedule is "somebody".

When Mason County plays like this the can play with - I didn't say beat - but they can play with anyone in the 10th. Still some things to work on like giving up second chances, but an encouraging performance. Randy summed it up in post #8.

 

And Augusta doesn't need to hang their heads. They are LIGHT YEARS ahead of where they were just a handful of seasons ago. And while Bach is far and away the main reason, they're not exclusively a 1-man show. It will be interesting to see how they respond in this evening's game.
