Just about every program trains 10.5 - 11 months a year. December is the only month kids get off now. Even during the dead period, kids get together without coaches and train. Strength train. Speed Train. Agility Train. The argument that HHS out works opponents does not hold water any more. Maybe 20 years ago, not now though.

I'd be very interested to know how HHS gets more team speed on the field than Scott County.

First Ryle, then Boyle County backs out? Could there be a perception that HHS success has its roots in more than just great coaching and tradition? Putting more team speed on the field than Scott County, a program with three times as many male students and little to no competition for athletes should be an eye opener. Especially when the HHS community itself labels its own training facilities as mediocre.

HHS beat BC, LC and CC by 3 tds+. That is not competitive. Elder is the only competitive game HHS played all year.

Why? HHS proves year in and year out that you can win a title without playing a competitive schedule?

Somehow I believe the kids are better at channeling this kind of disappointment than the fans and parents are. My kid is an offensive tackle. He has never received any post season acknowledgement. He has blocked for MVPs and never been recognized. All he does is move on to the next level and immediately start. And no one looks forward to lining up across from him in practice. If he started getting this kind of recognition, I wonder, would he be as driven?

SK, Scott and Dixie most likely. Lots of rural roads with heavy inclines makes for challenging bus travel even in good weather.

Owings, Tomlin , Cook, Bosse and Cox are the starters. Sometimes it takes a loss to get the kids attention. They played and won this morning. I believe they played Meade County and won something like 73 - 59. I did not watch this game. Could not find it on ihigh.

Well, so much for my expertise at rankings! SK, Conner and Highlands could not come up with one win between them!

BG won this game between two teams that like transition offense and full court press. BG turned over SK a few more times and SK missed some high percentage looks. BG did expose some things for SK to work on though. Cook shot the ball well in the first half. SK bus broke down on the way to Lexington and the girls barely got to LCC on time.

Didn't Boone just beat NCC? HC and Conner are both undefeated.

I could not help but notice that the stands for both Bryan Station and Scott County were empty for playoff games. What is going on in the Lexington District?

Did'nt Boone beat Walton earlier? I'd say its an anybody can beat anybody year!

I have to admit as neutral observer, Barker getting shut out of this list is stunning. Nussbaum being listed twice is overkill. Is this a coaches or a media selection???? Is this list limited to juniors and seniors?

Seems like both teams , but especially SK, could have benefitted from a few more non-district games front loaded in the schedule. Is there a reason why we are playing district games in December?

Lady Pioneers did not play very well. Lots of missed shots. Sandlin got into foul trouble and sat a large portion of the 2nd quarter. SK won this one with defense.

More people sending their kids to CC , St. Henry and BW. I was at the Conner/SK game and Hemmerich looked fine. What happened this game? Just lack of energy? Dead legs?
