Congrats to all that made the team(s).

Tri-State Football - Articles

Not sure what is up with Mitch Whitford and Rich Dee, OL, for HHS. One is first team, the other is second team. Both should be first team in my opinion, however, it is Mitch Dee and Rich Whitford. Seems they crossed the names...

Convince me that Durham (a good player) is a better choice than either McCoy or Barker at QB.

And do it based solely on his talent and not "he's important to his team."

Let me preface the following with this. Every school needs a Tanner Fangman on their roster. Kid aced the ACT. Busted his hump for 4 years. Got bigger and stronger and was a strong leader. I am a BIG fan of the kid.

With that he's not a 2nd teamer. He only played in about 8 games due to injury and had 27 tackles and no picks. If you wanted to pick a DB from CCH you would have picked Way or Oberhausen.

JMO.....Would have Brady Thacker over Nussbaum on 1st team LB. Getting hit by Thacker would be like being hit with a fire plug.

Just because someone hits hard, doesn't make them better than someone who doesn't hit as hard.. Nussbaum played nearly every defensive snap in the Best of the Bluegrass game, and made a bunch (double digit) tackles. I'd say he's 1st team.

Would like to shout out Conner's Cameron Fogle being named 1st team wide reciever, and 1st team defensive back. Nussbaum from Beechwood for being named 1st team RB, 1st team LB, and 1st team Punter. Taylor Centers from Cooper OL & DL. Making 1st team on both sides of the ball is very impressive

Not sure of his exact numbers but he had to be one of the leaders in rushing, scoring, and threw for 12 or 13 hundred yards. Not too shabby.

I have to admit as neutral observer, Barker getting shut out of this list is stunning. Nussbaum being listed twice is overkill. Is this a coaches or a media selection???? Is this list limited to juniors and seniors?

This is a NKY all star team, not limited to just Jrs and Srs. To my knowledge tristate football accepted nominations for a few weeks, and then put together their allstars. Why is it overkill? If the kid deserves to be 1st team on both sides of the ball, why keep him off the list? So someone else, who may not be as deserving makes the 1st team? Not everyone gets a trophy, although I think many people these days feel that way.

Congrats to the men from SK- Swanson, Racke and Bowling for 1st team. Wassom and Krallman for 2nd team.

Plus Max gets the benefit of playing on both sides of the ball at a small school. Swanson, for example, could have made this list if he played receiver. Same goes for Racke if he played DL.

Congrats to all of the players but leaving Barker out and where McCoy is placed is a complete FARCE !!!!

Nice to see Cool hand Luke Turner getting the props he deserved. Huge Senior year at WR for Luke.

I am going to have to agree with you that leaving Barker off the list is a massive mistake. Would definately have had him and Bir as 1&2 if I was making this team..

He had a strong year and was "one of the leaders" in various stats.

He led the QBs in rushing yards.

Of the 4 (Bir, Durham, McCoy, Barker) he was last in passing yards, last in passing TDs, last in completion %, and 3rd in total yards.
