I will say this about max preps, at least there is no human bias like we have here on BGP. We have people here that cling to positions that are refuted by results on field!

Quite frankly, Brennan did not look confident in that game. Scott scored on the opening kickoff. Brennan fumbled the opening snap and immediately threw a pick 6 and the route was on. The cb jumped the route with confidence becuse of the athletes SC had in the secondary behind him. Power running with occassional passing is definately the right approach. SC has more elite athletes on their team than we have in our whole district. Imagine what kind of a team you could field if there was only one HS in Kenton County.

Very true. The uneducated and unemployed typically do not generate tax revenue, they typically consume it. Conservative ideology seems content to invest in incarceration facilities while denying public education. Seems irrational to me.

It is clear that success in the running game has made Brennan and his recievers more relaxed. Passing accuracy has been good and no dropped passes that I can think of.

With all due respect, if Kuntz had Fogle to throw to, his stats would have been a lot better. Also not widely known, but Huesman, who was expected to have a big recieving year, was limited by a hip injury all year. With all the criticism our program gets, to get to a regional semi final with no POY candidate on your roster is a testament to team football and to coaching. Everybody has been biased.

No it did not. It had everything to do with developing the confidence of a quarterback. SK could always run the ball and have proven so against playoff competition, they at times chose not to.

Absolutely not. Ryle, Boone and Dixie were all inferior to New Cath and Beechwood. SK lost by a point on a 2 point conversion to Campbell in the last 30 seconds and took Dixie too lightly.

Not in a way that is equitable. There are many subcultures that have no problem outting 20 people in an apartment.

Kuntz still has room for improvement. I have seen Barker on tape and Bir in person. Brennan needs to improve his composure and decision making when a play breaks down. I have still seen him panic in the pocket. A lot of this can be attributed to him playing varsity last year out of necessity. He was hit a lot last year and had little run game support. Barker and Bir are a little more polished in this sense, but they were not thrown to the wolves like Brennan. This also ties in to my refutation of the SOS arguments. This QB would not have developed with a brutal schedule at the start of the year. Coming off last year, his confidence would not have survived. While Brennan may not have developed into a QB that can win games through spread offense throwing alone, he is doing extremely well complimenting the run game out of power running formations.

Losing does not breed confidence. Lose enough, and you go on the field EXPECTING to lose, and looking forward to end of the season. If I have the roster of T or X, sure I schedule up the gazoo. If I have a junior QB who was under constant pressure the year before, with no running game in support. coming off of a 72-0 whooping by T, I wouldn't schedule aggressively. This QB's confidence would have been completely crushed. Furthermore, although PPride has joined the criticism in this thread, he quickly ignores his own assertion that enrollment and football success are not that closely related. New Cath, Beechwood and Danville would all be competitive, if not favored over 2/3 of the teams in 6A. SK success in the first two rounds of the playoffs comes from the realization that the QB did not develop enough to continue to run a spread offense, throwing the ball 30+ times per game. Since adjusting to a power running team, with substantial success , the qb and the receivers are more relaxed and making a lot more plays, eliminating drops.

Scott Co. is getting closer though by choosing to expand their one county school instead of building additional high schools.

And somebody not named T or X would do better? I don't think so. SK did not lose to SC because of scheduling, they lost because SC just had too many skilled athletes. No body in our district , or the Lexington district would do any better!

As someone who has picked against SK all year, you should be in the ER will all the crow you have consumed this year!

If you are coming off a 2-9 year , do you really want to play Cov Cath, Higlands or Scott Co out of the gate? If you are not returning a lot of starters in a public program it is week 4 before you start executing well.

SK was heavily criticised early in the season for the lack of 6A teams on their pre district schedule. Guru and Ram in particular were adament. One poster even commented that "SK consistently fails to challenge themselves.". Let us revisit a portion of SK's schedule and see where those teams are now. I see that Danville has made it to third round in 2A and New Cath is a heavy favorite to join them there. Of coarse Beechwood is through to the third round and they are still playing. Hmmmm...... Just out of curiosity, I wonder how many of Cov Caths and Highlands opponents are still alive after two rounds? Four out of 6 of SK's regular season opponents are still alive after 2 rounds (New Cath pending tonight). Campbell, Ryle, Dixie and Boone all had schedules that were considered to be tougher than SK. How did that work out for these programs?????????

I believe its unfair that Catholic Schools have access top athletes in public scholl systems, but public schools have no access to athletes in Parishes and Parish middle schools. Do you think the Bishop would welcome a presentation on the benefits of playing football at Male High School? KHSAA says that High School coachs only have access to middle school aged athletes that are in their own feeder system. I don't see this limitation applied in Catholic School Programs.
