I wonder how Coach Beatty would do at an average public school where you cant recruit, at least legally, where you have average facilities average educational opporitunities and non supportive administrators and half interested parents. It s tough world in the public school world. Kids pay to go or receive a scholarship to be at Trinity they get the best of the best. Best teachers etc. Trinity in turn get kids who have supportive parents who hold their kids accountable. Trinity should be where they are. They are meeting their expectations.

 

I say that it is an earned advantage...people forget we started from nothing!!!!

TRENCHMASTER is just another one of the many many people that doesn't understand the KHSAA rules are the SAME for every school in KY.

I'll bite though.....Coach Beatty wouldn't have gone to an "average" school.....would Saban? Bear Bryant? Etc? Sure we have better facilities than most....sure we have a fan base that has bought in.....sure we have kids that sell out and grow up knowing they are going to be Rocks......even in the breathe that you speak....SURE, we have kids who have parents willing to sacrifice GREATLY so their kid can get EXPOSED, so their future is one that their family couldn't even fathom happening....I have yet to see fault in any of that....AND, oh yeah, I almost forgot....our first head coach went 36-42, in 9 seasons, with zero playoff appearances...

Settle down I am responding back to a previous reply from you. Coach B is a good man. Trinity is a good program I am just stating the obvious. Trinity has some advantages most public schools don't. If that ruffles some feathers sorry. I personally think private school's should have their own playoff system someway. KHSAA cant stop kids from all over the place go to Trinity if they choose. Private schools can get kids all over the place.

And the only thing preventing public schools from doing the same thing are restrictions that they placed upon themselves. If a school district so desired they could allow out of district students as well. It isn't the fault of a private school that they don't.

The rules create an advantage public schools do not have, therefore, if they have this advantage why is to so impressive to do what they should be doing? Regradless of who is responsible for the rule Trinity can grab pretty much whomever they want and are not bound by any geographical location. They can offer a premier education and facilities to attract good players. It is a small college set up. Most public schools cant offer this. Trinity is not doing anything wrong they do not make the rules I am just saying a public school like Scott County, Boyle, Central, etc impress much more.

I would have to disagree, but only because Trimity will play their best athletes. If they don't let guys like Quick, Brohm, Dawkins etc etc they probably still win their state championship by about 21 points. Sure that well below theirs at 5 that's been right around a 40 point average victory but when you consider those names I think that's enough to say they'd likely win those classes mentionted. Can't wait for this theoretical thread to pop up.

What about when the classes were smaller and the games were more competitive? Didn't the privates still have the same rules? Or am i wrong?

Funny that you use Scott County when speaking of "rules" being followed.

 

Nonetheless, it's totally fair what's going on at Trinity. They've EARNED that exposure with the success they had. It took hard work for them to get where they are.
