Final from Park Hills. SK held their own on the boards and NDA succumbed to the exhaustion of playing an up tempo team. NDA had several fatigue influenced turnovers in the 4th quarter. SK had multiple bench players make significant contributions. SK guards had a tough time getting shots off, NDA guards had a hard time handling the ball against smaller, quicker guards. Cox and Bosse held their own against Smith and Voshkul. On to Walton tomorrow, hopefully avoiding emotional let down after a big win. Good luck to NDA the rest of the season.

I would also add that there are a lot of hard working coaches out there working for next to nothing, making family sacrifices, who appreciate the recognition when it is merited.

Actually, I believe SK @ 4 is about right. They keep winning, but sometimes they don't look like they play well at all. Ryle and Boone do not belong in the top 10. If you consider Gallatin County NKy, then they should be somewhere between 7 - 10. Holy Cross should also be 7 - 10.

Whenever a program graduates a superstar like Moss or Crittenden a program will struggle. It seems to be a challenge to play in a way to let the players around such a player to develop by not overly deferring.

Ryle handled the SK press better than the Highlands press. SK was offensively undisciplined in the first quarter, settling for threes on a lot of possessions. Game was decided in the 3rd quarter but SK used the rest of the game to work on low post offense.

Conner's girls program is respected and acknowledged by everyone not in Ft. Thomas.

At least the coaches see their own games, live games and tapes of their opponents.

Nothing against AC. It is just a lack of recognition (and respect) in our own region. There is a region 9 superiority complex here and there are a lot of folks who are about to have their bubbles burst!

Some of us just live to give poll authors grief when our teams are not ranked where we KNOW they belong! That is xml notation for those that do not code for a living.

Its an improvement over people ranking teams they have never seen play!

I find it interesting that both urban schools, Holmes and Newport have coaching turnover in the same year. I wonder if there was budgetary pressure on the football programs? Anybody else think this may not be coincidence?

SK handled Anderson County at regional last year and this team only lost one senior. The player who replaced that senior is a lot better. SK starts the Region 9 tour here next week. We shall see how perceptions change!

With Jerry Mohr retired and Ed Cook no longer involved, we will all need to have extra patience this year. I heard regionals were going to be held at Silverlake. Are there additional meets to be held @ SL. Our kids had a quad meet on 1/4 followed by the 1/5 meet. Our kids had to warm up @ 7 for a meet that started @10. I think they would have performed better if they just slept in! We were not finished until 7pm. Kids started getting sick the next day.

I seem to notice an anti-NKy bias in both the girls and boys polls. Could they be compensating for bias in the football polls?

Several SK swimmers became ill this week after the Jan 5 swim meet at Scott HS. Have other teams noticed a sudden jump in illness after this meet? Thanks!

Might be a little premature for SK to be ranked that high. They really don't have a high quality win other than the win over Walton. Granted, they were in a position to win against both Monroe County and especially Bowling Green, but they fell short both times. I don't know about NCC but SK handled both Highlands and Conner last year, and SK only lost one senior. Time to prove it on the court though!

Compelled to make a choice, I would attend the Cincinnati Camp. You will see stronger competition there.

The NUC combines are of some benefit, but they can be somewhat redundant. You really don't need to go through the combine again unless you have had enough time to train between combines. I would say minimum of 3 months between events. The position specific instruction is useful, but is on the same day as the combine. The lineman challenge on Sunday is good and worth repeating at different locations just to get exposure to different competition.
