Congratulations Coach Griffith. With that remark on the table, how much of the existing staff gets retained?

SK and Dixie are both going to be strong offensive teams in district this year. I suspect it will take 30+ points to beat these teams most weeks. In 6A, you cannot get very far without balanced offense , unless you have a Travis Elliot caliber back. Can we expect balanced offense from the Raiders this year?

If they are requiring the HC to also be a teacher, how would that work? Would he have roll into a teaching position immediately or would that wait until the fall? Can't imagine they would have an open teaching position this late in the school year?

I would think Boone would prefer a coach from the offensive side of the ball, but who am I to know?

Guru mentioned previously that the spring practice dates would not need to be moved. I only agree if they hire an internal candidate. An external candidate hire with little to no knowledge of Boone's personell is going to have to study a lot of tape to decide what offenses and defensive sets fit the personell. I would think an external candidate hire would need at least a month of preparation before spring practice.

Oh, but she is teaching here. What she is teaching is that it is acceptable to completely lose your composure during the heat of competition. I do not believe that is a characteristic she would want to instill in her players. Displeasure can be more easily communicated with a stare or body language.

A 7 pm game gets you back on the bus by 9:30 and back to Independence by 11:15. I'd say the cancellation is reasonable.

SK kids were tight. I believe they let the moment get to them. Perhaps as an underdog, they will be able to relax. They need points from the bigs to take pressure off the guards.

SK kids were really tight last night. Seems as if the moment has gotten to them. If they have a repeat of 8 unforced turnovers in the first quarter they will be playing catch up all night. On paper, Anderson should breeze. But then again the games are not played on paper. Maybe as the underdog, they will relax.

Collins 36 Simon Kenton 41. Final from North Oldham. It was not pretty but the Pioneers will take it. Moving on to 8th Region Final. Owings had 19. P. Bosse had 10. Cook did not score. Bigs scored a little. Lots of unforced turnovers and inpatient possessions.

I listened to the internet broadcast of both games. The announcers consistently cited the officials for not signaling their calls. Missing calls is one thing. Officiating like you really want to be somewhere else is another! Did it seenm to those that were there that a lot of contact was let go?

Are these same officials working the second round games?

Simon Kenton's girls basketball program would not be where it is today if Walton-Varona had not raised the standard of competition in the 32nd district and in the 8th region. In the last three years, SK has been completely transformed from a slow it down half court offense, to up tempo basketball. Much of this improvement (my personal opinion only) is directly attributable to competitive pressure applied by the WV program.
