The young men at Bracken should be proud of the fact that they played at a level to come out victorious over Campbell. I'm sure that victory means a lot to them. BUT, that victory means absolutely nothing come February. As I've stated many times on here, I want the young men and women at both Bracken and Augusta to be successful, but I also make an attempt to make unbiased observations, as well, at least on occasions. :lol2:

No question. It's a toss up at this point.

Wins or no wins, considering what they lost, they've been very competitive in a lot of games. Again, I just don't think there is that much of a gap.

I don't think Augusta is as far behind as you think.

There have always been games at all levels like this occcassionally. Doesn't mean coaches can't coach defense, players can't play defense, etc. Just like there are low scoring games. Doesn't mean teams are bad offensively. Neither are a big deal at all, occassionally.

Other than a few overzealous fan's expectations, what is the basis of where this team should be at? The preseason rankings had them mid-to lower in the pack of 10th region teams? And yes, those folks ranking them took in consideration that Hinson was their coach, Crawford was on the team, etc. There seems to be an infatuation with the Polar Bear naysayers to criticize when they don't over achieve. It would seem that they are on par for where they should be at.

PC definitely seems poised to make some noise leading into the second half of the season.

To the first bolded- WOW! Can't imagine anyone thinking that! To the second bolded- I'll assume you've seen them play?

IMO, minus the recent Fleming game, it's hard to judge where the Lady Royals are at, having played several out of state teams. This game, along with future stretch of playing GRC, Campbell, Scott in a row, then playing Scott and Simon Kenton will let them know where they stand.

Pendleton. Allen. And they now seem to be getting consistent production from 2-3 others.

First game Lady Bears had 27 turnovers and lost by 12. Some quick math suggests if the Lady Bears take care of the ball, the game is well within their reach.

Without him 4 players scored in double digits. In the games following that, with him, 3 other players have scored double digits.

Noticed there were about 12 different divisions. Anyone have any idea on what the criteria was for what division the teams were in? Was there an ultimate tournament champion or just one from each division?

But also agree with this, because none of those players had made a name for themselves at that point. If so, there would have been more of a fuss made about it then.

Actually, it's very timely, they could have done over the "last 6 years" when they were the underdog, but "inexpicibly" chose to do it when they were not the underdog.

....and Bracken's decision is called childish. Hmm.

I'd say the answer to most all of this thread was posted earlier in the post below. Actually makes more sense than all of the over-analyzing being done.

Analogy could also apply to Golden State Warriors, Cavaliers, etc. Whether a team is at the top beginning post season or on the outside looking in, their respective position was based on their regular season performance.

This notion that you have to beat the best to be the best, of course is true. So, we could say that the Bengals would have to beat the best to be the best. But first they would have had to earn the opportunity to do so, which they failed to do. Had they qualified, they would have still been at the mercy of their record, in relation to the other teams in their division. Ridiculous notion, evidently.

....and it appears for every tear shed in favor, there are just as many tears shed in response.

How many sports at high school level and up, do not structure their post season around a teams performance throughout the regular season?
