  1. So, if Bracken's girls could barely dribble, how would your game plan been successful?
  2. Teams have peaks and valleys. Three years ago they were beat by Augusta in the district, a team they had dismantled earlier in the year. Then last year played the number 6 team in the state to 3 points in the district. Augusta boys had a great run. But I wouldn't say the program is spiraling downward. I have a feeling you know these things all too well though.
  3. Wouldn't say I'm a faithful follower, but close enough to those who are. I believe the answer to your question was answered in my reply to your post on a different thread last week. This program and the previous coaches benefited the last 5 seasons of having the most prolific girls player in its history. They returned one double digit scorer from last seasons teams. Not sure what the expectations would have been.
  4. To be fair, I never mentioned discipline. Just like to stick with facts and not assumptions and insinuations.
  5. I understand. And with all due respect, it's not fair to assume that it's absolutely a joke she doesn't start when, admittedly you do not know why.
  6. ....and IF he's an ok coach, then the region is loaded with ok coaches. (Not suggesting he or any other coach are just ok. Just making a point.)
  7. It's not a naive kid that's posting this information. Rest assured, it is someone who is much closer to the situation than those random posters on here that are simply speculating about it.
  8. Good luck to the young man at whatever position he plays at whatever school he attends.
  9. .....wouldn't be the first time they surprised the Royals on that floor. :lol2:
  10. As far as the ORVC, yes and no. Yes, most of these seniors plus some who no longer are a part of that group. But no, because this group has players who were not part of that team.
  11. First senior class in the last 2-3 to not have Bailey Cummins. Also, third coach in 3 years.- First of which obviously not to have her. This seasons team is essentially the same team playing against the same players of the other teams, that played Mason Co last season within 3 points in the district tourney, minus the the 2 previously mentioned factors. It was mentioned in another thread that this team might be better than last seasons. Make no mistake, they miss every point that Bailey put on the scoreboard, but what they miss even more, is the floor general she was. She saw/sees(as proven at the college level this season)the floor extremely well, 84 ft, in both directions. I would say a comparison of turnovers from last seasons team to this one would confirm that. While she is the most prolific scorer the Lady Bears have ever seen, it's her leadership they miss. Back to your question, I guess to those who thought they could replace her as a floor general, then perhaps there were high expectations. Those who knew they couldn't, knew this season would be a challenge.
  12. Also, first season in a long time without Bailey Cummins in a Lady Bear uniform. No coincidence.
  13. Perhaps. But I'd say that a couple reasons had absolutely nothing to do with basketball.
  14. Hit a similar shot 3 years or so ago in the Dirt Bowl in Maysville. Half court jump shot.
  15. Would love to hear a replay of Danny Weddles call of that shot.
  16. I have a hunch that he had more influence that year than people think.
