As far as the ORVC, yes and no. Yes, most of these seniors plus some who no longer are a part of that group. But no, because this group has players who were not part of that team.

First senior class in the last 2-3 to not have Bailey Cummins. Also, third coach in 3 years.- First of which obviously not to have her. This seasons team is essentially the same team playing against the same players of the other teams, that played Mason Co last season within 3 points in the district tourney, minus the the 2 previously mentioned factors. It was mentioned in another thread that this team might be better than last seasons. Make no mistake, they miss every point that Bailey put on the scoreboard, but what they miss even more, is the floor general she was. She saw/sees(as proven at the college level this season)the floor extremely well, 84 ft, in both directions. I would say a comparison of turnovers from last seasons team to this one would confirm that. While she is the most prolific scorer the Lady Bears have ever seen, it's her leadership they miss. Back to your question, I guess to those who thought they could replace her as a floor general, then perhaps there were high expectations. Those who knew they couldn't, knew this season would be a challenge.

Also, first season in a long time without Bailey Cummins in a Lady Bear uniform. No coincidence.

Perhaps. But I'd say that a couple reasons had absolutely nothing to do with basketball.

Hit a similar shot 3 years or so ago in the Dirt Bowl in Maysville. Half court jump shot.
