They have probably one of the better running backs in nky in powell...QB should also be a strong point this year along with the defense...The SK and CC game last year was boring neither team was any good and that was one of SKs worst team in quite a few years due to turnover from the Miles/Lawrence era...I see this team as developing into a similar team as the one with Chad amd Miles that made a run for a couple seasons...The talent at SK is very good right now...What do the Camels have returning?

As a Holmes and a fan of Simon Kenton as well I will be going to Rupp once again for no one to really cheer for. Who will be some of the players that I should keep an eye on? Best Athletes, Best Shooters and Best Overall Players? Who looks to be the favorite teams? I know all the regional tournaments aren't completed yet, but many teams have punched their tickets already.

Lloyd 50 Bc 42...Bray scores 30+ on his own knocking dowm open 3s and driving right passed anyone guarding him allowing him to shoot alot of free throws...Williams locks dowm on mcqeary sp?...I also see no one on BC quick enough to guard the pg for Lloyd who I nicknamed Mugsy after seeing him the first time the other night...BC really escaped a run their by Holmes in the first 5 min that wouldve put BC in a huge hole early and I dont see them getting lucky enough to dodge 2 bullets in 2 nights...

He was getting abused all night...he carried himself better than any kid i have ever seen at the high school level...even tempered for having such great talent amd knowing no one on the court could stop him...

Boone didnt impress me...maybe they just had a bad night though...i see Bray having his way just as Rice couldve as well if only Rice played with any aggression at all...

Couldve sworn i seen him my dad pointed him out and we were discussing it for a bit...stansberry has a unique look and i know what he looks like but mayne he just has a twin lol...the kentucky connection in addition though led to me to beleive it was actually him...

Very impressed by bray for lloyd and it was my first time seeing him...ive heard alot about him not being able to play at the d1 or d2 levels and if tonight was any indication that is way off...nku would he very fortunate to snag him and nku is now going to be d1...stansberry from miss st was in the house im sure to watch him, he always snags kids from ky...id also like to say after hearing he was more athletic than rice i was skeptical but after seeing the oop dunk he threw down i can see it, one of the nastiest dunks you will ever see in high school...he played within himself, nice handles, very nice stroke from deep...he is definitely worthy of being a top 5 player in the ninth region at least...

Too many missed bunnies by the dogs and way to many open bunnies for boone is the difference...holmes not attacking the basket in the second hapf after almost being in the bonus in the 3rd was also huge...not going to pick on the officials to much but rice had to baskets taken away on a travel where he did a perfectly legal spin move amd palmer got called for a horrible charge in which he also scored...i really thought holmes might blow this one open early they couldve easily entered the second quarter up by double digits but just coupdnt capitalize

Ive seen him a bunch but he always stood on the perimeter and just passed the ball around as does the Holmes entire team usually...Never even knew Quan had that kind of first step or handles, he was vert impressive tonight...

If your talking about Palmer he played the best game of his career , he blew past the stud pg for cc that everyone raves about almost every possesion it seems like...When Palmer plays with agression it makes Holmes offense dangerous as they actually get into a flow, same goes for Rice...Both of them either get fouled or dish it to the open man...Im not sure if Cc shot poor or if it was Holmes great defense they played tonight...

It was very lopsided the refs caught it up a little before half but it was 6-1hard in favor of cc after 1...Cc shot bonus holmes didnt thats all that matters end numbers dont...32 for cc down low hooks everytime no call everytime...

I never said he wasn't any good...Personally I have played pickup with Miller as I have many good High School players and he is as good as it gets at that level...My point is he is the first KY boy to wear the Big Blue and make a difference in quite some time and I know every year there is a handful of kids in KY that could do the same thing...However UK will only recruit the 5 stars that get the pub and I'm not complaining about that at all I just know how fortunate we were to have Miller go to UK and I hope not too far down the road we can watch another home grown talent just like him...

Miller's skill set is very good but it wasn't nearly what it is today coming out of high school...He had alot to work on, In High School he relied more on being able to over power anyone that was trying to guard him. I'm just saying there will be no one in this senior class in the state of KY that will get a UK offer I'm sure and I just always find it hard to believe how much talent there is in this state that goes unrecognized at the High D1 level. I will really miss Miller and I'm just saying a lot of kids don't get the National Attention he got coming out of HS, although he was definitely deserving.

I really watch no one other than Holmes so for them I would say the Waller kid. He isn't the most talented but you can tell he tries his hardest and earns playing time with his hustle. This thread makes me think of another topic, Who could be Kentucky's D-Miller? The only reason I ask is because I love when an instate kid with talent earns the chance to play at UK and actually produces. I know Miller received much hype in High School and was pretty Highly Ranked Nationally i'm pretty sure, but so many instate kids I believe could do what Darius does for UK but for whatever reason don't earn the National Interest. And UK isn't going to sign you if your not garnering national attention. Miller was very good in High School but has improved tremendously, so a player doesn't necessarily have to be a stud straight out of HS but they should have the size for their specific position along with the athleticism I believe. So once again for Holmes I'd love to see someone like Dontel Rice be the next Darius Miller for UK :thumb: Dontel has the size to play the SF position and more athleticism than he seems to know what to do with, he lacks aggression and needs to improve his 3 point shot and ball handling but seems to have a solid head on his shoulders. I think if Miller doesn't get any National Attention he never ends up at UK.

This is concerning to me along with all the other players that have transferred from Holmes in the last couple seasons. I believe Coach Booher is a great coach but I'm beginning to wonder if Holmes is the right fit, I will definitely give it a couple more seasons before I make to much judgement though. Maybe he just needs his own methods and coaching strategies to be instilled from middle school up and then things will get better idk. It just seems like there was less of players quitting, transferring and getting kicked off the team under Henley but again maybe its just a rough first few years. Someone correct me if I am wrong or reading into this too far, but watching them it almost seems like Coach L has more of a grasp on the team than Coach Booher. Anyways as someone who has followed Holmes greatness the last 6 or so years its just hard to watch this team. Holmes actually has talent this year, Palmer, Coston and Rice are three of the better players in the region if you ask me, when the play with AGGRESSION. Then you have Martin, Waller and Englemon along with the four players that have left the team this year above, 3 of which would have been key and Herndon was a young talented player. One last player and probably the key to it all is Bolden who plays not like a Frosh but probably more like a Junior and from a talent standpoint is the best on the team other than Rice, he should have been playing more all year if you ask me but he is now and that's all that matters. So without getting into the transfers this team is still possibly the most talented team in the region, or could have been and I would have loved to see another state title run, I'm spoiled as a Holmes fan:D. No predictions on the game from me in my mind Holmes has no trouble winning and wins by 10+ but that's because I've seen them at their best. Wouldn't be surprised at all if CC wins though because Holmes is a rollercoaster and CC is a good team.

Awesome game though PC owned the first half, Holmes owned the second...Holmes trailed by as much as 20 in the second half and comes back and wins...Holmes press is nearly impossible to beat and they went to it in the second half after finally getting hot from 3...The frosh Bolden with 11the big points in the 4th alone, kid should start for Martin or Engleman he is clearly Holmes best player other than Rice...Put Bolden at PG and move Palmer and Coston off the ball and Imo Holmes has the best chance of winning...

Does Stephens ever get in? He looks like he would be a force in his pics with his size and strength ...

Agreed, looks like he should grow a couple more inches at least as well...I actually think he is the key to Holmes success this year, he is just that talented ...I think Booher realizes it as well, Bolden has been getting more and more minutes as of late...He does not play like a freshman at all...

Nice, Thanks...I love the oop off the backboard from the freshman Bolden, maybe a little flashy but unselfish and sweet...Bolden has serious handles, athleticism and pg smarts for just a freshman!
