RomanEmpire Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Congrats to the Bulldogs. Good luck to both teams next week. District losers..........CCH, Dixie, Boone. Wow! Watch out District winners, no cake walks this year. This tournament is wide open.
RomanEmpire Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Dontel Rice 35th District Tourney MVP Congrats to DR. Great season. I am sticking with my pick for Holmes to return to Rupp. Should be a great week of bb next week. How did Q play tonight Walter? Was he everywhere?

How did Q play tonight Walter? Was he everywhere? If your talking about Palmer he played the best game of his career , he blew past the stud pg for cc that everyone raves about almost every possesion it seems like...When Palmer plays with agression it makes Holmes offense dangerous as they actually get into a flow, same goes for Rice...Both of them either get fouled or dish it to the open man...Im not sure if Cc shot poor or if it was Holmes great defense they played tonight...

Yep, that's who I'm talking about. Love his game and his cat like quickness. Glad to hear he had a big game tonight. Holmes needs him to stay out of foul trouble next week and play smart.

Ive seen him a bunch but he always stood on the perimeter and just passed the ball around as does the Holmes entire team usually...Never even knew Quan had that kind of first step or handles, he was vert impressive tonight...
Clyde Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Dreadful game to watch. Both teams stunk offensively . CCH shot about 20% and I'd guess Holmes shot about 35%. It was a "someone had to win" game.

How did Q play tonight Walter? Was he everywhere? Quan was in foul trouble in the first half but played extremely well second half. He attacked the zone and handled the pressure well. When he was out Bolden and Wilson really stepped up at both ends. They will be a tough duo when Palmer and Coston graduate.
Bengal Maniac Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Holmes defense contested everything. CCH got no easy outside shots and then just couldn't make anything in close. If the Bulldogs play defense like tonight they will be tough to beat. The key to the game was the 2nd quarter when Palmer, Englemon, and Martin had to sit most of it. Holmes got killed on the glass but hung tough with the sophs and frosh. I believe there is a reason CCH shoots poorly against the 'dogs and that is no one challenges their shots as well. Holmes is very average offensively, but with the "d" they brought tonight they'll be really tough to beat. CCH does not match up well with them. I thought Tobler played well, but he was it. Palmer was a stud tonight. He just blew past them whenever he wanted. When CCH had to go to man to man and trap out high, it was pretty much a free throw contest the last 4 minutes. These are both pretty young teams that will battle it out the next couple of years for the 35th. Looks like the 'dogs could draw Dixie or Boone, but you gotta beat them anyway.
